Terms of payment:
All payments are made by credit/debit card or transfer to your balance. No payments are made by check or bank transfer directly to the seller.
The buyer uses the payment methods available on Delcampe on the page"My purchases : Awaiting payment".
Payment not made by credit/debit card or transfer to your balance will be refunded by the seller to the buyer. An unpaid purchase may have consequences for the buyer's account.
If the seller's sales conditions include additional clauses relating to payment, these are to be considered null and void. The payment conditions of the Delcampe website, as defined in the conditions of use, are the only ones applicable.
Purchases must be paid for within 14 days of receipt of the final statement from the seller.
Note on bids below the price:
In case you were wondering: since the recent policy changes of Delcampe (2024), the shop is being flooded with bids below the asking price. Some examples:
- for auctions that have not even ended for the first time and are reasonably priced, people try to ask for a 30% discount;
- for just one postcard of 1€ some people ask for a 30 cent discount; or sometimes just for 5 cents…
- for beautiful postcards that are more expensive but are not offered for sale anywhere else, …
- etc. etc.
The shop gets one bid after another well below the asking price. There are several of them per day. People seem to think that trying goes along and Delcampe encourages this. People like discounts, which is understandable.
However, know also that Delcampe has abolished the automation around responding to these bids (e.g. automatic rejection above a certain %, or acceptance below a certain %).
This is the reason why usually I don't even look at them and much less respond to them. Please don't expect me to answer bids below the price because you won an auction the normal way.
