A lot of sellers, myself included, have reduced our prices since the changes, to at least partially offset the added fees that Delcampe now charge, so at least my buyers will not see a massive price hike. Only time will tell if it will remain economical to continue selling on Delcampe.

I am having the same problem.
An item on my watchlist, old price Euro 1.90 is now 2.39
    (1.90 +10% +0.30) "Excluding shipping costs"
But when I click Buy, it becomes 2.485 with remark
"Shipping costs will be defined in the payment request"

I tried with another seller's listings: same thing happens.
Price Euro 4.59 Excluding shipping costs, when I click Buy
    the price becomes 4.785

Is this another fee that Delcampe is adding?

Needless to say, I did not complete the purchase.

I think the issue is related to Europe VAT

Just to say I am in the UK and I am NOT seeing any additional price being added in these circumstances. So does indeed sound like an EU VAT issue.

On the day of the changeover I noticed that everything in my "Watchlist" had risen in price by at least 10%. An item at 70 euros rose to 78 euros, another for 20 euros rose to 22.50 euros, etc. etc.
I've been hitting the 'delete' button a lot recently!

As the problem persists. shouldnt you have a statement on the home page explaining to buyers that the price they see on the listing is the price they will pay , not the price on the pop up.

    Hi everyone,

We have noticed that the price in the confirmation box was only different for the members who use our English-speaking website.
Any other member could see correctly the price.

We have managed to fix this issue.

Thank you all for your patience.

    Have a lovely day,
    Miranda

Agree. Why did someone think it was a great idea to charge BUYERS for the privilege of shopping here? Fees should be paid by sellers -- they are the ones making money on transactions. Additionally, it is all a bit shady on the buyer's end -- all you see is a price of the item (no transparency on what fees are included for the buyer) and the seller's postage fee. I am picking up a few items on my watch list, then I will walk away from Delcampe. Lots of other sites out there ... . I will miss most of the wonderful sellers I have done business with over the years -- but I won't pay to be a customer.

There’s another site, Vinted, which uses the charge the buyers model, which I suspect Delcampe opted for on the grounds that sellers wouldn’t pay any more than they were already doing. It might work for Vinted but that’s a totally different market, second hand clothes etc, one item, one fee. Buyers on Delcampe often bought multiple items and few if any are going to pay 10% plus 30c per item.

You are correct. Aside from charging CUSTOMERS (who does that?) they are hiding the buyer fees in the cost of the item, with no transparency whatsoever from the buyer’s perspective. Nothing but a money grab that will implode on Delcampe. Tick, tick, tick.

    Exactly! A buyer's commission - nothing less.
