Changes in Lower bids?

I had an "offer" for 63 items at 49% discount that I ignored. The same buyer has now ordered, but not yet paid for, 12 of the items at the advertised price.
The 'bottom feeders' emerge in their droves whenever an opportunity like this presents itself.

The stupid offers I just ignore. The more sensible ones I consider if they are within what I consider acceptable parameters. A few I accept especially if it is old stock but most are declined.

What is interesting the majority of the declined offers go on to sell at the original price!

It is interesting, dealing with this monumentally stupid idea of Delcampe, that, in my experience buyers who make daft offers of 30-50% discount, when offered a 10% discount as a counterbid ( which I accept for older stock), have so far universally accepted it!!!

This is what they would have got with the previous system, with must less time and bother, offer & counter-offer etc.

It is quite apparent that whoever dreams up these ideas has never actually tried to sell anything online.

So I received bids on a couple of newer auction items and that's fine, but the buyer also made offers on a few older buy it now items. I felt like I had to accept the offer. I don't want to offend any buyer when they are bidding on other items. Delcampe can analyze and crunch the numbers all day, but I don't l like being put into a position where I either comply with someone's offer or risk consequences (not paying for the rest of the order or leaving negative feedback). It's not a feeling I like. I have expected to see myself added buyer's blacklist if I refused or ignore more orders. So far it's only gone up by one person since this feature was added and when I was outright refusing offers. Now I just ignore them and hope nothing happens except this recent one. I gave in.

The folks from Delcampe need to try running something that's common in the United States - a yard / garage / tag sale. It would be an experience. Try selling items you paid originally $50 for $5 or $10 just to have someone offer you a $1. It sucks. Not the perfect example, but the feeling the seller gets is very similar. Very distasteful.

I keep checking this forum in the hope of a positive statement from Delcampe . I feel my store has sadly been reduced to a market stall and this "car boot" concept does not suit a prestigious leading site like Delcampe. I have ignored all offers this week and will continue to do so. Moving forward if this not changed, I will have no choice but to add other e-commerce sites to my coverage so my revenue is not impacted. I wont post here about this again as I don't want Delcampe staff to think I am moaning. They are all wonderful people and it's not their fault but their management. It seems all sellers just want is an "opt out" which is a very fair and reasonable request.

Buying stamps today has become extremly competitive. With hundreds of sellers in many sites all selling basically the same items, the choices are many for the buyer. Does the seller price their items according to the old formulas? 10 20 30% of catalogue? I suggest those days are gone.In a competitive market ,like here at Delcampe I believe the sellers must come to grips with this. I would much rather deal with an offer than to deal with no offer or sales.Rare and high quality items should receive sensible offers and the common items which are numerous should be sold at what the market
dictates. An offer takes seconds to respond to and it also could tell you if your prices are in line.
I have listed all my items with "offers welcome" for years now and have never felt inconvenienced by them.

Looking at alternative sites you will find they all have offer options. I don't think offers apply to bidding listings so try a low starting bid at a reasonable price. This should indicate if your reasonable price is attractive or not.

Still hating these low ball offers. I guess I can just double my starting prices so when I see that 49% discount offer, I can be like sure and hit accept. Until then...it's a pain in the...
