And yes it goes away, but not until there's at least two emails per offer.

you can change your settings in a way to get only ONE combined mail per day, following this link: (hope, it works here?)

The second email is a "reminder" email. Except, I don't want them at all. Zilch. I want to opt out completely.

I am not in favour of this new feature. I always welcome change and Delcampe usually makes very positive refreshing changes but I am really hoping they will cancel this. I feel it is "cheap" and is not appropriate for a quality site like Delcampe, nor do I want my buyers attitudes cheapened nor my items involved in such bartering. I appreciate there may be sellers in favour, and in view of this, I feel an "opt in / opt out" should have been granted.

I thought there was an opt out previously for getting offers on items.???

A couple of years back I was plagued by several buyers from India that used to send 100s and 100s of offers at £0.01 per item which I found annoying and time consuming to deal with politely.. I vaguely remember doing some tweaking and the offers stopped.

As regards the new feature I am broadly in agreement with PostcardFinder's Comments.

    Agreed!

Please add an opt out. It does cheapen the website and gives it that yard / garage / tag sale feel.

The old system worked fine. Set your Maximum, and it all worked well.

Now I have stupid "Lowball" offers coming in. Not even a close approximation of the market value of the items.

    Time to rethink Delcampe !!

I've holded off on commenting on this until I had an offer. Had my first offer since the new system came in . A grouped offer for 30 items, with a reasonable discount percentage of 19%.

My previous offers were set to allow bids on items 2 months old or more with a maximum of 20% discount on those. This worked well to clear old stock

New system is unusable to calulate this within delcampe.

The offer window does not contain the correct information to do this - listed since is when the item last renewed on the screen so typically only a few days not since the item was renewed, and does not include my personal reference which I can also use to work out when items are listed.

The email does include personal references, and number of renewals - but the number of renewals is incorrect as it only include them since items were last closed/opened - items from 2020 were showing with 2 renewals.

So to replicate Delcampes previous functionality I've had to break out a spreadsheet total up the eligible items on my old ruleset from the email and then calculate the offer with discount of 4%, send the offer and a message to the buyer to let them know why their offer was rejected taking around 15 minutes.

    Is this progress?

    Hi Steve,

I have a look at the lower bids email and the number of renewals seems to be correct as you seem to use quite often the mutiple change option "Restart my items". When you do this, the renewals of your items changes, it no longer matches the original date you had but the recent one which corresponds to the new restart them. Hope it makes sense.

    Kind regards,Miranda

    Hello everyone,

We'd like to thank you for reaching out to us.
We are always listening to your feedback and are constantly striving to improve our platform.

We understand that sellers do not appreciate the possibility of submitting a lower bid on a newly listed item. This could give the impression that the product was overpriced.

We have therefore planned a new improvement to the lower bid system, which will go into production in the course of next week:

    - During the first month of the listing of an item, it will not be possible to make a lower bid. So let's say an item is listed for the first time on October 20th, then a lower bid can only be placed on November 20th.

This measure is to ensure the value of newly listed items.

We hope you will be satisfied with this change and that it will contribute to reinforcing the quality of the products offered on Delcampe.

We continue to analyse our sales figures and your feedback in order to offer you the best possible service. If you have any questions or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

    KR,
    Miranda

No...we need an OPT OUT option. It's just creating "bad blood" between buyer and sellers. I already start my listings at the lowest acceptable price given the amount of my time, my effort and my costs. Most of these offers are lowball slaps to the face from cheapskates who want something for nothing. It's belittling to the seller, a time waster - it's demoralizing.

If it doesn't change, I will put a big ole warning in all CAPS on every listing: NO LOWER OWERS ACCEPTED. I will auto delete any email for any such lower offer without even looking at it.

How are Delcampe fees calculated in the event of grouped offers? Is it per item or the total value of the sale?

    Dear Miranda
You might remember, that I always estimated YOUR efforts (do you?) :hello:
So please understand, that I don't mean YOU personally in the following lines:
they are meant for the responsible persons of this overhasty action:
WHY ON EARTH was it done from one day to another - without any announcement or online-debate before? As you know, there is a heated thread on the French forum with more than 800 entries - mostly negative. The main reason for this widespread frustration is the total lack of communication from Delcampe's side.......it was an overnight action, that took most sellers by surprise. Was there any need for this? Did you think, most sellers would swallow it without resistance? Did you check out the consequences BEFORE?
As I see now, you have already taken two steps backwards, just to remove the worst mistakes in this case.
I wonder, if you are willing and able to LEARN something from this.......I call it "error".
if you want to keep (or get back) the trust from your sellers, you should NEVER AGAIN act in such a thoughtless way.
Thank You to forward this to the "usual suspects"

Its still per item, the grouped offer takes down the prices of all the items by the appropriate percentage with a bit of fiddling for rounding.

An opt out option would be a good idea for those buyers who spend a lot of time making large selections of items from a sellers inventory only to have their offer ignored until it expired or rejected out of hand with no explanation.

A message stating this seller does not accept offers would save their time and keep those sellers who do not accept offers happy at the same time..

We apologise for the inconvenience and frustration caused by the recent changes on our platform.
We understand that you and many other sellers were not happy with the way we implemented these changes without prior notice or consultation.
We appreciate your feedback and we are working hard to improve our communication and transparency with our community.

We want to assure you that we did not intend to harm or disrespect any of our sellers.
We made these changes based on our research and analysis of the market trends. Our goal was to provide a better and more competitive service for both buyers and sellers.
However, we realise that we should have communicated these changes more clearly and openly with you before launching them.

We have listened to your concerns and we have already made some adjustments to address the most urgent issues. We are also open to further suggestions and improvements from our sellers. We value your trust and loyalty and we hope to continue working with you in the future.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

    Miranda,

As has already been mentioned above, and I know on the French site as well, please implement an opt out facility for sellers.
It is then their choice whether to exercise that option.

Many sellers, myself included, price our sales to be competitive, and cannot afford to take the large discounts which you are facilitating. It is not sufficient to say sellers can always refuse, but that is time consuming, unnecessary and is probably as frustrating for buyers, who are having offers rejected, as it is for sellers.

All sellers may be prepared to offer small discounts on items they have had on sale for a considerable time, and the previos system allowed easily for that. I, for one, could not see why the old system was ever change din th efirst place.

    regards
    Sam

What I cannot understand is what was wrong with the old system?
If the seller was happy to accept up to 50% of their selling price, they could set that as a parameter.
However, if you did not want to accept offers you could do that too.
If you have old stock that you want to get rid of just lower the selling price!
I do not think you can have a blanket approach.
As I run my shop and pay Delcampe for the privilege, surely it should be up to me to decide whether to accept offers or not and to allow me to set the parameters.
I have already had a difficult discussion with a regular customer who suddenly made a ridiculously low offer because she thought I would now accept.
The one thing that seems universally agreed is that changes like this should NEVER be implemented without consultation first.

Receiving offers of 30% and more below items that are already priced to sell is demoralizing.

I had an "offer" for 63 items at 49% discount that I ignored. The same buyer has now ordered, but not yet paid for, 12 of the items at the advertised price.
