Can someone please tell me why some sellers insist on sending only by registered mail if the buyer uses Paypal? It is totally uneccessary. All the seller needs is a receipt of posting from the teller in the post office, nothing else! Pay for the airmail postage and ask for a receipt! Also if you agree to have a paypal account , it states in that agreement that you cannot charge the customer YOUR paypal fees! We all pay them within a transaction not just sellers ! But on here, the buyer is paying twice! Delcampe is the only site on the net where this poor practise is allowed. I want to buy a card for 10 euros. Paypal is the safest, quickest easiest way of sending money abroad or anywhere. The seller wants 5% for ME BUYING from her, then another 6euros to send registered mail. Don't they see that they are preventing more sales? I am an avid collector on many subjects, and I think some sellers are being too greedy. Some cards I have seen selling at 7 euros+ with hand writing all over the image ! Who would buy that? I wouldn't even buy one like that for 1 euro!
Many European sellers need to understand , that a Direct Bank (IBAN etc) Payment , costs £15.00 about 16euros! This is BECAUSE, Britain is not on the European CONTINENT but "overseas". That is why there is a huge charge for us and not for other europeans.

In Canada, for example, you cannot get receipt for mailing regular mail.
As a buyer you have Paypal's insurance, but tracking No is the only insurance for a seller. So to get one ,you have to mail by registered mail or any other option with tracking No.
As a seller I have an experince when buyers claimed money back.In all cases Paypal was on a buyers side as I couldn't provide a tracking No.
You have to understand that some sellers already have a bad experience and just try to protect themselves.
Some sellers asking to cover they fees ,so what wrong about it ?
If you are buying something cheap and sellers shipping fees are low,so why not to cover paypal fees. Also you are not paying any fees when using Paypal.
Anyway you always must to read sellers policy and do not place a bid if you are not agree with it.
By the way on ebay you cannot charge any aditional fees it's right, but on other side some sellers have very high shipping fees just to be on safers side and cover paypal fees. Most of US sellers asking for $2-3 or even more for regular mail to Canada which is actually cost 64 cents,

But some sellers on here who have moneybookers ALSO charge for that! Before having an account accepted with paypal (don't know about Moneybookers) one must first agree to the terms and conditions. One of the prime conditions of having an account accepted by Paypal is that you do not charge the buyer for YOUR fees, therefore these sellers are in default of their agreement with paypal. I have checked this out, and an account can be closed if a person does not adhere to the rules. To answer a reply I got above, THAT is the reason why sellers should not charge. Paypal encourages buyers from overseas that is a fact, and I resent paying THEIR fees for the privilige of buying from them!

I have not read that before.,butI am still not sure after reading it, that it refers to the point in question, because if that IS the case then Paypal are not doing themselves a service are they? Kind of defeating the object of their business. I rang paypal themselves and the person I spoke to told me it was against their policy for anyone to charge a customer for using paypal to pay them, and were in default of their agreement if they did. I am just passing on what I was told by them.

One of the ways that some sellers get round this is not to charge their customers OPENLY for Paypal charges, but they 'hide' the charge in Postage & packing charges - I have had a few occasions on eBay when I queried what seemed to be excessive P&P charges by a seller that I was informed that they added a fixed sum - 25-30 pence seemed to be the norm, to cover that. Not surprisingly I did not buy from them

If you pay directly by Moneybookers there is a buyer commission to pay, but if you use the Delcampe e-wallet to pay with Moneybookers it is the seller who pays the commission
