The new method of PAYPAL billing... big problem

Hello, I think the discussion is losing the thread a bit here, it's not about MangoPAY. By the way, there are also payments via credit card as a source, which is then also stated in the payment method, which would then be something like a direct debit... The point is that the billing now appears in the seller's PAYPAL account belongs to the buyer's PAYPAL account. If Delcampe invoices the buyer for the platform fees, this must also be recorded in the buyer's PAYPAL account and not in the seller's PAYPAL account. It was still the same on April 2nd, 2024, as I can see from my PAYPAL incoming payments. From April 3rd it wasn't like that anymore. In the simplest case, it's just a software problem with Delcampe and just needs to be corrected. So it would be nice if someone from Delcampe would comment on this or provide information as to when the problem will be solved. Kind regards
You're right. Whether Mangopay payment is to be viewed as a common payment method has nothing to do with your question or your claim. which is undoubtedly justified. But you also have to realize that your question in the API forum has nothing to do with the API.

Well, this is about the API between Delcampe and PAYPAL, something is obviously going wrong and this is resulting in technical problems for the sellers... so in which forum should you post the topic? Kind regards

Hello Delcampe IT team. When will the PAYPAL problem be resolved? Delcampe cannot debit the fees charged to the buyer by Delcampe from the seller's PAYPAL account. This must be debited from the buyer's PAYPAL account, as it still worked on April 2, 2024. The way things are going now, neither the buyer nor the seller's totals match the transactions to be posted. Simply not giving an answer doesn't solve the problem!!! Kind regards

Some kind of response from Delcampe would be appreciated, other than “ Have a good day”.

I've sent in the following question for the Q and A tomorrow

As a seller, Paypal statements show the total amount paid by the buyer (including buyer fees) entering my account. 'Buyer fees' are then deducted as a separate transaction. For tax purposes this needs to be accounted for correctly by providing an invoice from delcampe to the seller for the deduction. When will sellers be receiving this?

    Background
In the previous Q and A I asked a technical question on how fees would be taken 'on the fly' as I could foresee tax issues for professional sellers and yourselves.

For paypal Sales, will you be (a) sending the seller only the amount due to them, or (b) the total buyer cost and then deducting your fees (both buyer and import fees)?

You answered (a) - which would have been ok, but unfortunately you mis-spoke as your technical implementation delivered (b) as the attached screenshot from paypal shows. This has two impacts :

Professional sellers need to account for the fees in their accounts. We require an invoice from yourselves to declare the deduction in our tax affairs.

Delcampe may be paying VAT in the incorrect country on cross border transactions. You are receiving the fees from the seller, not the buyer. You may be in for a nasty surprise if audited.

The Mangopay accounting is so poor the issue may be present there also, but cannot be proved either way using the current screens.

I've raised this as a ticket (and on the forums) multiple times but have not yet had a response other than it has been escalated to management.

    Hello
I keep the topic alive because the problem is always here.
Actually it's impossible to generate our fec due to the buyers sent in paypal.

For me, you shouldn't send this information in paypal and only send the amount without buyer costs.
Even more, you return amount without buyer costs in your sold notification api. This cause miss match between our erp and our accounting soft.

I'm surprised, there's no response form the delcampe team about this critical issue.

    Best Regards

Hello Delcampe, you can't just pretend that this is none of your business. The way in which bookings are made/displayed with/via PAYPAL is not legal, that has to change!!!!

Hello, Delcampe still does not prevent PAYPAL payments from buyers who do not have a PAYPAL account from being passed through. These payments are routed through PAYPAL via third parties and then arrive at the seller as a payment without seller protection. This means that this amount can be charged back at any time. DELCAMPE should offer this setting option in the payment settings and pass it on to PAYPAL (statement from PAYPAL). We currently always send these payments back to the buyer with a corresponding explanation. However, since Delcampe does not integrate the messages via the PAYPAL API into the payment view, the buyer must first log in to PAYPAL to see the reason for the return. ... and the billing of PAYPAL payments is still incorrect because the fees that Delcampe charges the buyer are still deducted from the seller's account. Kind regards

    Hi,
I would like to second on these complaints, in reference to the buyers' payment to Delcampe through the seller's Paypal account.
This last tax quarter, that we have just closed, has been one of the hardest to square, as our accountancy software imports the full gross payment received to our PayPal account, even though we never receive or generate an invoice for the full payment that is deposited on our professional PayPal account.
We have had to create a new reconciliation account for the Delcampe Commissions to Buyers, so we can keep a clean accountancy of the gross payments received.
All this new commission system is absolutely crazy in so many ways...
