Hi, I'm in the UK and have approximately 60 commonwealth stamp listings on delcampe for the last month or so. I think the stamps are priced competitively but no sales as yet...

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong or is it just a case of 'Low Traffic'

    Many thanks in advance.

Welcome to Delcampe. :hello: We are in the same boat. I've had 500 listings for 6 months with only 1 small sale and 1 positive feedback. Thankfully, I sell on other sites almost daily (that we aren't allowed to ever mention on here.)

I also posted messages similar to yours and got several responses from members, that I am a new member with no feedbacks, or my items are too expensive even though I see many listings for several thousand dollars, or, I am located in the U.S., or, my items are U.S. even though I list worldwide items, or any number of reasons why my items don't sell on this site..

I even posted links to my store on my daily posts on X and got no response.

What I find interesting, in my various emails and X Feeds, I receive advertisements, announcements from publications, education seminars, dealers, websites, of sales and upcoming auctions from around the world. As a 35 year member & unofficial ambassador of the American Philatelic Society (APS), I receive The American Philatelist magazine, the oldest continuously published philatelic journal in the world which is filled with ads and announcements from websites, auction houses and dealers from around the world. But I don't recall ever seeing any ad or announcement form Delcampe.

Maybe Delcampe advertises elsewhere but I don't know. Good luck with your selling efforts.

Thanks you very much for your reply.

I genuinely thought that being new to delcampe, my listings was not correct in some way. However, I have been doing this for many years.

Not too much joy with other sites to be honest. Once okay but no longer...

Perhaps folk have become a little greedy. Who knows!

    All the best.

On Delcampe it can take several weeks before your listings get noticed - but they soon get buried in the thousands of items listed daily. So 60 items is a drop in the ocean and soon forgotten.

You need to be listing items on a regular basis so you always have something at the top of the new listings pile so when people find one of your items they then look at what else you have and then, hopefully, buy some of them.

I’ve been a dedicated Delcampe seller for years, but I have to be honest—since the fee system was changed in April 2024, it feels like the platform has been on a downhill slide. If I were to use a boxing analogy, Delcampe is in the final round and barely staying on its feet, dangerously close to a knockout.

We currently have over 40,000 items listed. In previous years, weekends would reliably bring in around 13 orders, sometimes more. This past weekend, for the first time in years, we didn’t receive a single order. It was both shocking and disheartening.

To put things in perspective, between 2022 and April 2024, we saw a healthy, steady rise in sales. Delcampe was our go-to platform. Now, that momentum has vanished. What’s even more telling is that we’re still making daily sales on other sites, so the issue isn’t with the market or our inventory—it’s specific to Delcampe.

I’ve said this before and I’ll keep saying it: the new fee system, where buyers are saddled with the costs, has driven people away. The old model—where sellers paid the fees—worked perfectly. We were happy to pay for the service Delcampe provided. This new approach, in my opinion, has been a disaster.

People have left, and realistically, most won’t return. However, if Delcampe were to revert to the previous fee structure, there’s a chance to attract new buyers and sellers who might stick around. But as it stands, we’ve lost faith. We’ve drastically reduced our weekly listings on Delcampe and shifted our focus elsewhere.

We never asked for this confusing and, frankly, off-putting fee system. We valued Delcampe and were glad to support it financially. Now, it feels like the community and vibrancy that made the site special are slipping away.

I hope the Delcampe team truly listens to its core users before it’s too late. The platform still has potential, but only if it puts the needs of both buyers and sellers first.

Many thanks for your response. I’m a new seller and based in the UK which is probably not ideal as far as Delcampe is concerned.

I have sold on other sites (assuming you’re not allowed to mention here) for years but they too have declined because of ridiculous policy changes that either make it too expensive to buy or not profitable to sell.

My post was an enquiry to determine if I was doing anything wrong as I haven’t had one sale. Your reply was very informative and much appreciated.

    Once again, many thanks.
