[D*] Good news on the way

Dear friend,



For some time now, our site has experienced regular slowdowns. The fact is that our community has grown tremendously to the point of reaching now 23,000 members. This represents more than a thousand newcomers per month! Naturally, our site is visited at an increasing rate and bottlenecks have multiplied, especially in the evenings (Belgian time). Well aware of the problem, we have called on your patience.

And, your patience will soon be rewarded because we are pleased to announce the acquisition today of a new and better performing server. It should be added to our current server in about two weeks. You will then benefit from a much faster site! This has been possible thanks to your contribution through the selling fees levied since July 1st.

Isn't back-to-school a period of renewal and change? If this holds true, October will be like back-to-school for Delcampe.com! Indeed, taking advantage of the additional possibilities offered by the new server, we will publish new articles by some of you in our magazine.

The upcoming autumn will also salute the arrival of a major sponsoring contest, an initiative that should extend our community to new sellers and buyers and at the same time reward the faithful Delcampe members. And, in the same vein, publicity for our site will sprout about everywhere, as much in the print media as on the worldwide web. This will allow us to have a well known, constantly growing, congenial and highly performant site.

In closing, this message is a preamble to a well packed newsletter that will describe both the current situation and the future plans for the site. There you will also find descriptions of the new features that have been added recently as well as of those that are projected for the near future.
