    I don't think you are doing anything wrong; it's just how it is right now.
    The only thing you can do is return the payment and let them know to include the postage with the new payment. I have had a couple of people that have made the payment before they receive the invoice, on Ebay they automatically add the postage when you pay with PayPal. The problem I have is that they buy something and pay and then on the same day buy something else and just pay for the item, not good if paying with PayPal since you have to pay for each transaction. So I just refund the payments and ask them to pay for the items combined so I only pay one transaction fee.
    No real easy way to deal with it at this time. Hopefully in the future PayPal will be linked in the same way here as it is on Ebay so it includes shipping when the individual goes to pay.
