I’ve been a long-time user of Delcampe and used to genuinely enjoy both browsing and buying on the platform. However, I feel compelled to share my concerns about the way things have evolved over time.

Lately, the overall experience on Delcampe is simply not what it used to be. What once felt like a community-driven marketplace has increasingly become seller-centric, often at the expense of buyers’ interests. As a buyer, it’s discouraging to feel like your concerns are secondary — especially in situations involving disputes or transaction issues.

Speaking of disputes: the dispute resolution process, in my recent experience, has proven to be ineffective and quite disappointing. The system appears to exist more as a formality than a genuine tool for resolving conflicts fairly. Even when valid evidence is provided, outcomes seem predetermined or biased, leaving buyers with little to no protection.

Additionally, I’ve noticed that many sellers are cross-listing their items on other platforms such as eBay, sometimes at similar or even better terms. Given that, I find myself increasingly inclined to make my purchases elsewhere — where platforms provide more transparency, better buyer protection, and faster support responses.

This isn’t meant as a personal attack on any seller or the Delcampe team, but rather as a reflection of genuine dissatisfaction. I truly hope the platform takes these issues seriously and works toward restoring the trust and balance that made it enjoyable in the first place.

Until then, I’ll be more cautious and selective — and, where possible, I’ll choose alternative platforms that prioritize both parties equally.
