Can anyone please give me information about this illustrator or the story behind the postcard please? Thank you.

I suspect it's an advertising card for the Breinossl (a inn/bar?), showing what a good time they all had.

Rough translation of the caption is: I come straight from the Breinossl, Oh Innsbruck, how strange you look to me.

Ah! That's quite funny. Can you imagine any company or establishment getting away with such advertising today?

'I come straight from the White Swan. Oh how delightfully bendy the village looks to me

I've checked and the Breinossl is an hotel in Innsbruck. Great help, thank you.

    Cheers!

If you have a look at Streetview, you'll see that the Breisnossl is right by the statue, which is in the centre of your card.

I googled Breisnossl, Innsbruck before replying to your post.

There are lots of old postcard, which certainly would be frowned upon today, including naked/semi naked children (including the multiple babies cards) and "politically incorrect" cards.

Good morning! Yes, I have two albums of postcards from India, and some of those are horribly racist /demeaning/distasteful.

Re Breinossl - its surprising, isn't it, where a postcard can lead you? Apparently the hotel is now permanently shut. Sometimes I like to return items to places they originally came from, and would have contacted the hotel to ask if they wanted it. (eg, currently returning a very old photo back to a bowling club in Nottingham).

So, next question, any advice on selling the Innsbruck drunken postcard please?

I was gonna send this weeks ago but website would not me upload image, hope it does now!
Can't help with your query but they did the same thing in the UK, at least in London! I have a few of these, this one by Rotary Photographic Co, big publishers in the UK, they've taken photos they probably used elsewhere, straight, and made them wobble as tho you were drunk! That's the joke!
sorry the first scan is rubbish but I can't delete, its the second one!
