Any ideas about this note? I'm stuck on the second line.

I think it's "The White House. Malown (???) Link (?). Detached & facing a Common (?) and the Links (?) behind it."

The third to last word could be Hills, but might there be a golf link here? Does anyone recognise anything like Maloun? N..town? Links golf course?

    Thanks (hopefully).

    Hi,

Counting the strokes up and down, to my opinion 'Malown Link' is not possible.
    It could be 'Maloun Link'.

Further the second word 'links' is also impossible.
Compare with the first word 'Link': this is clearly not the same word.
The second time, the word could end by '...iks' or maybe even '...iles'.

    Best regards,

    Hi,

    Colcard has it right.

The house is still there (Pickersleigh Road) and it still looks 'white'.

With some fantasy, 'Maloun Link' could also be read as 'Malvern Link'.

    Best regards,

    Hi again,

I think the bottom two lines are to be read as:

    'Detached & facings a [...]
    on the Hills behind it'.

So the only mystery remaining is 'Common'. The first letter could also be e 'W' (compare with the W of White House).

    Best regards,

    Quasar

I think "common" is right, a common (sorry) word for an area of shared grassland, with animal grazing rights.

Thanks as usual for all your help.
