Would you tell a seller that they have listed obvious fake items but haven't identified the listed items as fakes?

Yes, providing I was sure they were. I suspect many sellers would not be aware that they are offering fake items and so provides a service both to them and the Delcampe community as a whole.

Yes- so long as I could provide a link to information that proves it is a fake or clearly explain why it is one.

I have inadvertently listed fakes in the past (and may even have some listed still that I do not know are fakes) and am always happy to have them pointed out so long as it is explained to me why they are fakes.

We cannot all be experts on everything so can benefit from the specialist knowledge of others.

I would like any comments, fakes and other, about my items.
    Thanks

Under normal circumstances I would notify a seller about obvious fakes, but in this case the fake items were sold within hours of being listed.

Even though they were sold for very modest amounts, I still wonder why people buy things they know nothing about?

The fakes are overprinted occupation stamps from the Second World War used on postcards but with postmarks that were introduced in the 1990s.

    That is another Delcampe problem.
You cann't notify a buyer about his fake item purchase.
Not a long time ago the description, of the sold items, could be seen.
About 2 years ago, one of my buyers purchased an item ( From another seller).
The sold price was about 4000$. I emailed him a warning.

I think that I would not contact a buyer directly about fake items.
My experience is that buyers often are more difficult to convince about obvious fakes than sellers are.
Buyers have often convinced themselves about what a great buy it is, whereas many sellers list whatever they just purchased cheap from an estate sale or similar.

When looking at an item page click "report item" which will be found just underneath the box with the sellers user name.

There is then the option to report the item EITHER to the seller, or to Delcampe. There is a drop down box on both options to state why you are reporting.

Curiously the drop down box for the seller does NOT have a forgery option!! The Delcampe dropdown does.

Thank you for letting us know.

I was not aware of this feature. If I understand it correctly it is only possible to use this feature when the listing is active, i.e. the item is still for sale?
