Italy, Scott #C82 (Sassone Posta Aerea #A93), used (o), 1935, air mail, Honoring the Centenary of the Death of Vincenzo Bellini (1801-1835), operatic composer, stamp shows an angelic dirge for Bellini's Funeral, he was the quintessential composer of the Italian ‘bel canto’ era of the early 19th century; he had the uncanny ability to match music with text and emotion, and was much loved by his public, he died young at the age of 34 from an acute inflammation of the colon following a life-long battle with intestinal disorders, (1+1) lira, , perforated: 14, photogravure printed, watermarked: crown (Scott watermark #2140, Sassone filigrana: corona), purple, Scott 2019 catalog value: $240.00. Very slightly off-centered (extremely fine), light, half circular, black-inked, half-to-three-quarter counter-clockwise turned, socked on the nose cancellation with mailing details bridge and considerable mailing details over the top half of the stamp and well into the central images, sound back, good perforations. If not satisfied, return the stamp to me at your own expense, and I will refund the cost, but not my postage to you.
