Mangopay Refund sent by closed account

    Dear Delcampe Team

    since you have introduced your Mangopay, there are a lot of forum post about things you have made wrong.
    But here, I think, I can call it robbery.

    Payment notice received, item sent as usual. Up to this, just a regular case.

    But now, I have seen, the money was refund by closed account.
    What the hell is in your mind?
    When you send the seller a payment notice, the seller will always ship the item.
    When the buyer close his account, why in hell the seller need to refund any completed transaction?

    Just stop this stupid!
    When a buyer close his account, there is no reason, to refund a completed transaction. Now the item is sent, but my money was refund. Closing an account does not mean the buyer was bombed out of the universe. So the shipment will receives him, and he did not payed for.

    Maybe it is a huge mistake to write this here in public forum, each buyer knows now how to get items without to pay.
    Just buy an item
    Pay with Mangopay
    Wait till seller shipped the item
    Close the account
    Get back your money
    Wait for the postman
    Be happy about an item for free
    Create a new account
    Repeat

    So check this out, and solve and stop this!

    Perhaps you're right, but regardless, this should never fall on the seller. How could a seller possibly know if a false identity or stolen card was used in the transaction?

    In my opinion, Delcampe or Mangopay should be responsible for covering the costs in such cases.

    It seems like the platform is navigating through some choppy waters right now...

    Of course, Delcampe is responsible in this case too, because after all, a false identity was passed on.

    It is becoming increasingly clear how immature the Mangopay system is. There is now this case, there is no buyer protection for buyers, etc. And so it is no wonder that the fraudsters who offer the copied products on the weekend only offer Mangopay.

    This is very concerning as a seller. There is no way we as sellers can avoid selling to fruadulent buyers so we cannot be held responsible for any chargebacks that occur because of this, and this would not happen with your other payment provider Paypal.

    If Delcampe wants sellers to hold items from buyers they need to do it as a 'pending' status with a date (as paypal /ebay did previously when things were funded by a non instant bank transfer).

    Once we receive the cleared money as sellers there should be no way that it can be removed without a dispute proved against us (which cannot happen at present as there is still no buyer protection policy - unless I missed an announcement.)

    Please can we have an urgent Delcampe announcement regarding this.

    Hello, it's not as if PAYPAL is without problems. Just today I received another payment without seller protection. These payments always occur when the buyer does not have a PAYPAL account or does not want to use one and then pays directly by credit card. To prevent this payment method from being possible in the first place, Delcampe would have to provide the corresponding settings in the web interface when configuring the payment service provider. These settings are then exchanged via the API connection from Delcampe to PAYPAL. This is the information I received from PAYPAL about this problem. I posted this problem here in the forum months ago. As usual, of course, no response from Delcampe. So the only option at the moment is to return such PAYPAL payments and inform the buyer. The refund will probably now lead to a cancellation, so the payment cannot be repeated. Hello Delcampe, things simply cannot go on like this, do your homework. Sales via Delcampe have already fallen by 50% in 2024 due to all these changes, and the 30 cents per item in particular is angering buyers.... In response to this hole in MangoPAY, the only option left is to hold the goods for a week when paying via MangoPAY, then it should be clear whether the payment will go through.... That will be the next nail in the coffin for Delcampe! Best regards

    I wanted to clarify that automatic refunds are not issued upon the closure of a buyer's account.
    In this particular instance, a manual refund was processed in error.
    We have since corrected this mistake and the money that had been mistakenkly refunded is now back in your Mangopay account.
