Account Balance Warning

Today there was a big amber warning banner on my account, saying I had owed more than £10 since 14 March, and I should pay my account.

Yesterday my account balance was less than £5 only (£4.89).

I owed more than £10 since today, only!
(today I was billed for my monthly fees, so I owed £60 since today only!)

So why did I get this big warning today!
We normally get 14 days to pay the monthly fees!

Do we now have to pay immediately each month!!!

I have paid the full £60 today as I was so worried, but I do not think I should have had such a warning.

The whole way that the commission invoicing works is messy. Again I find myself moaning that the old system worked better. If they'd just replicated, with some refinements perhaps, that would have been great. Even the advice you receive on payment makes no sense saying that you have a zero balance? It should probably thank you for making a payment of £x. :dunno:

What you have encountered is just another piece of flawed software logic which does not take into account the previous balance and/or a period of grace before payment. Is the period in the Delcampe rules?

I agree it is rather threatening.
Goodness knows what might have happened if you had been ill or on vacation?

    I found this,
    Link (http)

    2.3.6 Account Balance
"The member commits himself to pay money into his account when he/she owes 5
    EUR/USD/GBP/CHF/CAD or more
"In the event of nonpayment of a debt within fifteen days ...."

Although Delcampe raised it to £10 (not £5) a while ago, hence that £10 mentioned in the warning.
BUT my account balance was less than £5 yesterday anyway! So I should not have got the warning today!

This was an issue/glitch on the old site as well.

I remember having one month several years back, when my fees were less than the minimum and therefore made no payments - next month on the 1st of the month I had a big banner across the top of my screen, telling me "to pay now".

Given that I always pay as soon as the invoice comes through, I remember feeling annoyed about it.

I have never had the problem before, and I quite often have a few pounds (less than £5) outstanding on my account.

All that has ever happened previously was that, whenever I went over the £10 balance, I would get a message saying (correctly) that I owed more than £10 since that day only. It not backdate it and say I had owed more than £10 for 15 days!

Well it looks as if Delcampe has a bit of work to do update its Rules with the correct figures and correct / improve its software so that it operates in accordance with its rules ... and in a more conciliatory fashion! And at the same time ensure that aspects of the old system are properly transitioned to the new system.
