Previous picture once again

This theoretical impossible phenomena happened to me THREE TIMES TODAY, while using the basic upload tool:

I enter a description, add the related picture and upload the lot.
Then I continue with the next one and THE NEXT picture.

    BUT

when I check my listings, I have found out, that the previous picture was in fact uploaded once again.

In the meantime, I have corrected myself these lots.

But I recommend to all of you Dinosaurs, that are using the same "tool" to check your labour for a similar mistake.

    :cop:

    Thanks for your feedback.

Just uploaded some items by the same method just now - no problems, all pictures correct - may just have been a temporary glitch.

    Hi!

I also have noticed this problem, and it is regular. I informed about this Delcampes' technical team and our "discussion" about it is still going on. Their initial position was that it is simply impossible. I suggest you also to write to Delcampe via "Help&Contact". Perhaps they will take this problem more serious, if complaints will come from more users.

    Hi!

I have received the answer from Deccampe team. Unfortunately it's blabla.

    Here it is -

    "Hello Ugis,

I have received a response from our technical team.
It appears this stems from a communication issue between our system and Google Chrome.
They have recommended that you :
    - wait for the selling form page to load completely before you start filling it out
    - try using a different internet browser (such as FireFox)

    Thank you.

    Kind regards

    Elizabeth, Delcampe Customer Service"

    And here is my answer:

"Thanks for your replay, but your mentioned possible reasons is not the cause.
. I do not use Google Chrome and already use Firefox.

The selling form I always start to fill out after complete opening, because there is not technical possibility to start it fill out before complete opening.

Seems your technicians simply give causal answer from computers geeks standard vocabulary. It's like suggestion, if something is not working, restart your computer.

    There must be another reason."

    Hi there,
    same here!

The real problem for me occurs when a customer "buys by the picture"
or "buys by the text" and do not compare the two and when the
picture and text does´t match and when I don´t have both in stock
and the customer wants the one not in stock.

That happens from time to time and I gave up trying to check all items
and try fix all to match as it happened that when I double checked
new variants of issues occurred, so I felt it was a mission impossible,
even if I don´t know if I missed them at first place while controlling
as it all became very confusing.

First I though I had made the mistakes and sometimes it may very well
so be as lately I´ve found out that it can happen, but not frequently,
when I upload (I only upload manually by the form).

I use Opera 12, as it is so fast, and I have no issues at all for anything
else I do with my browser. (Well, some other sites doesn´t work with Opera 12)

However I start to think, as I have many tabs open (in this case many forms) at the same time as my Internet connection is very erratic and lose packets, it may be ME causing the problem as the servers maybe are zipping the info depending which signal goes first and not independently by the different forms and mess it up??????

    Example:
    1.) I have 5 tabs with 5 forms open.
2.) I start with tab 1 and fill in the form and do NOT wait until it is registered.
3.) I take tab 2 and fill in the next form and do NOT wait until it is registered.

After tab 4 or 5 I can see that the first item was registered
and if I lean back a while all five are now ok.

    For when the errors occurs
a.) at time when I list them
    b.) and/or afterwards
I have no clue at all.

I don´t see any big problem with it, just irritating
when a customer can´t get what he was buying which doesn´t happens
    often at all.

I could calculate the frequency by the factors of number of sales,
items listed and issues but as I´m not sure yet if it´s me causing
the problem I don´t see it relevant and I just make other priorities
but at least it feels good that I´m not alone to have things flipping.

Further, I know that programming is not an exact science and
Delcampe still remain NUMBER 1 and I´m happy with that and to take
a brake from time to time as too many hours in front of the screen
is worse than any issue and may even cause issues but some day
even I may be enlightened about what´s really gong on...

ooops - he did it again :o

here is the result of my first upload of today:

    Link (http)

I have not yet corrected it for all to see

instead of the "right" picture (see below) it has taken Berlin stamp that was loaded some days ago. An error is not possible, because in the meantime I removed all my Berlin-images from this folder.

And THIS is, where the problem might be hidden.....IMHO ??

During upload process, it may occur that it does not have access on my ACTUAL data and takes the previous instead?

For instants: if I upload with Delcampe, the view on my picture-section is somehow different. It still shows "dead" folders, that I had deleted or removed and do no longer show up in my actual view.

The keyword to solve this problem is maybe "to refresh" ?

But as a person of MINOR PC-knowledge im a unable to do so
    :dunno:

PS. The "right" picture to the offer above:cool:

    is shown below

    Hi!

I'm also a usual user and even are not interested what is going inside my machine if all is working. But seems there will be not any answer also from technicians. Here is the last answer from Delcampe:

    "Hello Ugis,

    I do understand your frustration.
I have spoken again with our technical team and they are sorry but other than the tips they have previously offered, there is nothing else they can suggest.

I am very sorry not to be of more help with this.
    Thank you for your understanding.

    Hallo,

    I think I got it.

Remember, a long time ago, when you used the function "Sell a similar item",
all data was copied and THE PICTURE WAS INCLUDED as well.
That was later changed to EXCLUDE THE PICTURE, as per today.

Remember, when you were a kid, and divided a worm into two.
Then you had two worms going in two different directions.

    Conclusion:

If you don´t kill a string of code properly you may have created
a worm and it will be out of your control where he goes and what
he is doing. He might even duplicate himself in rare cases.

I suggest the tech team to remove the code around the environment for
the "Sell a similar item" section and recode it from what it may be today
but NOT try to specifically define that the picture shall not pop even if
there´s nothing to be found telling it should per today and instead what shall be included. Just a new code telling in another way than per today what you want it to do may be a good fix.

That is like killing a worm properly in his own environment to exclude
his possibilities to have a life and consequently even impossible for him
to duplicate himself to try to hit you side wise.

"You don´t ask why he is shooting at your direction.
    You eliminate his possibilities"

A wall is only a compromise and wont last forever,
dependless how good it might be.

    Hi again,

OK I will drop a note to Delcampe Tech as now I´m 100% sure.

    1. Today I used the stamp with the blond guy (see picture),
which was listed Fri, 21 Aug 2015 12:29:26
and clicked on "Sell a similar item".

    2. Changed the text and uploaded the judo stamp and
    clicked on "Sell>

    Result:

I got the judo text but with the blond guy stamp,
so I haven´t made any mistakes, nor being drunk.

PLUS the older listed blond guy stamp is now also listed
as "NEW" despite I haven´t re-listed it but it still has
the old correct original listing date.

I had a customers who recently ordered a bunch of Belgian specimen
stamps where the text didn´t match the picture, which wasn´t
funny at all, and it takes ages to double check all my 22.000
stamps but I´m working on it but it seems to be less than 1% affected.

What is worrying me is that I have to change routines by going back
and check, when listing a new stamp, for to see if all is ok as I
    can´t trust what I do will makes things right. So I go to my shop and do;

    Sort by>most recent first

for to see if all is ok.

    Cheers::beer:
    El Gringo

P.S. I have no clue why the the blond guy stamp has now "Fixed price"
and before not. Have to check that up too...

    .....and again :pc_user2:

this one is correct: Link (http)

    this one not: Link (http)

Obviously both have been listed one after the other. An error by me is NOT possible, as the related pictures are in different sections of my folder.

Most of my "cases" happened in mid-2015. As it seems, Delcampe now has the problem under control again - hopefully?
It's not very funny to be faced with mistaken offers by buyers.
And it does not help me to put the blame on others.

What I am asking from Delcampe is to instantly follow ALL those complaints, no matter if they are "technically impossible" or not. This is an important matter for the both - users AND Delcampe.
