New Website problem

The new website shows a very small thumbnail of the stamp that is entirely useless. When old items are magnified, they are unusable as they are just pixels. This is due to the older low resolution scans required in the past being over magnified. So, for such items, there is no usable picture as you can't reduce the magnification at all. Ideally, stamps are presented in a magnification that shows the stamp when magnified at its actual size. Not bigger, unless you are showing some detail. Someone in the resolution department does not understand about resolution which is determined by the resolution of the scan and should, as before, not exceed the resolution of the image. Otherwise, we get just pixels blown up like marbles. Come on Mr Delcampe, get your site working for buyers and sellers.

It is not just stamps. I have noticed "wavy lines" in some of my postcards, that previously showed correctly.

I completely agree with this poster. Also, more comments. You need a separate Seller "My Delcampe", I don't need to see my picture (and scroll Past it every time I get a new page.) What happened to choosing a specialized sort and saving it? I have 14,000 items in stamps and I need to find a stamp to edit without hours of looking.

This site is now rubbish. Not a patch on the old site.

This latest complete switch over that will replace the old system in a few days has caused nothing but chaos, inaccessible information, unable to search for items that have been sold for what price .The new is much harder to use.Not user friendly.

First thing is: the new images are all htm, and can't be viewed unless in a browser. I can't import them into this email unless they are jpg. So I can not provide images of the problem. The zoom is far too big, many times the size of the stamp. Particularly bad with older resolution (lower) stamps that are just a mess on the zoom. If a new stamp is scanned in a lower resolution it just blows up to the biggest size and looks like marbles. The fact that you can not save images as jpg is a huge disadvantage for a collector archive on a hard drive. There are many convoluted operations that are tedious.

Maybe it is me, but when I make a modification to a sale, I can't get back to that page- unless it is page 1 of my selling list. It is so hard to use and time consuming. I suggest to everyone to list your problems in the forum instead of condemning the site. I think if they see the lists of problems they will understand how to cure the problems.

All you got to do is go and look at any stamp thumbnail and zoom it up. There seems no way of downloading as a jpg or uploading as a jpg.

I agree with your last 2 sentences.

It is no good just stating: "the new site is rubbish" or "it's a step backwards" or whatever other way it is being put.

Complain by all means and complain loudly. But be specific.

Any changeover is going to take time to get used to and we are all creatures of habit, but a lot of the complaints are about things that can actually be done, if you care to investigate the site.

In many cases this has become more arduous, for example it used to take me one mouse click to get to my ongoing sales with bids - now it's 3 clicks.

There is still a large amount of debugging to be done, so make the site aware of specific issues.
