The main reasons:

1. End of the U.S. “de minimis” duty-free threshold
   As of August 29, 2025, the U.S. ended the “de minimis” exemption, which used to allow many goods under USD 800 to enter the U.S. duty-free. Now, all imported goods are potentially subject to duties and customs. 
   Because of this, many postal operators around the world have temporarily suspended or altered their services for U.S.-bound parcels, while they adjust to the new customs/duty requirements.
2. Suspension or limitation by postal services
   Due to the recent tariff and customs changes, many international postal services are limiting what they ship to the U.S. or halting certain classes of mail (especially parcels / non-express) until the new procedures are clear.
