What is going on

I have been selling stamps on here for about eight years. In all that time I cannot remember a day when I did not sell something or at least took a bid. During that time I have sold about 19,000 items. Since the introduction of the new pricing structure my sales have almost dried up with about 10 sales this month. I have not had a sale in the last week and currently have three items with bids. My income will not cover the delcampe fees this month and no sign it will pick up. Is Delcampe under financial pressure or were they just being greedy. With the state of the world as it is I think an increase somewhere could have been expected and we would have just lived with it but this seems to be a kiss of death. The accounting system is terrible with the seller looking like their income is going to be inflated by including the buyers fees. The buyers are just seeing inflated prices, I know someone suggested reducing our price to keep the total asking price down but why should we. If delcampe is keeping track of the forums then I implore them to think again. This is killing what seemed to be a good site. Act now before it is too late.

I agree completely that Delcampe needs to rethink it's platform fees policy. Up until now I was only buying covers so the per item fee was not too significant. Last week I purchased some 20+ stamps most them 1 euro, so a total of 32 euro attracted a 33% platform fee. I've complained to Delcampe but of course it will make little difference. I'm really glad that there are some competitors out there.

I, also, am leaving, and am going to use the money saved on Delcampe fees to promote my own website, which consistently outperforms delcampe. I have been a member for the best part of 20 years and have 79,000 items listed (including duplicates). I think this is a small amount next to other sellers but to me it is a real shame.

I have considered reducing to a free store just to keep my hand in but this does not allow sellers to display SKU numbers, and the use of API, at £16 per month is punitive. It is as if Delcampe have tried to block all ways of sellers making the new system work for them, and to at least make some profits, so I can no longer see the point of staying.

It also seems that Delcampe have tried very hard to mis-understand the very nature of collecting, ie low value items to fill gaps, and that collectors do not want lots of stamps bunched together as a larger lot as they will have no way of disposing of the unwanted items in those lots. My own website will continue to price from £0.10 upwards as I remember who my customer base is, and what they want from their supplier.

    I close on 11th September.

I have enjoyed the last two decades, and have enjoyed working with the Delcampe Community, but there is little point flogging a dead horse. All the very best to all buyers and seller in the future, and may be I will see you on the other side (where, incidentally, you can save £0.27+10% on every item you buy!). I am unable to write the name of my website but the clue is in the name!!!! .
