For a 1 euro item the platform fees of 10% plus 30cents means platform grabs 40% to the item cost, this is a very greedy by Delcampe.

It means for cheaper item you are better buying from ebay or other platforms or direct from sellers..

There are lots of way Delcampe could improve this, buy using a flat commission % or grouping low cost item for a discounted fee.

Sorry Delampe I will buy less through you until you change

This problem is caused by 30 cents, not 10%, which would be a reasonable platform fee for all items. The combination of 10% and 30 cents is particularly harmful and directly affects the sales of low cost items.

I know Delcampe hates low cost items, but buyers used to love them. Not anymore.

For 1.00$ item ebay would charge way more,10-15% fee, transaction fee, international fee, fees on shipping and taxes peid by buyer added to the total ,and local taxes on everything.
By the end seller will get probably 40-50cents if sells 1.00$ item.
Agree on flat fee when buying multiply items from the same seller,it would definitely help to boost the salesof cheaper items here.

It is also strange that Delcampe does not promote the sale of low cost items that still exist here. Delcampe makes money when they are sold, if they are sold.

Now cheap items remain as unsold due to excessive platform fees until sellers delist them, if they delist them.

If cheap items are not desired due to storage costs or prestige, Delcampe should simply prohibit listing them or remove them after a pre-announced storage period.

    Storage costs my butt... :fight3:

Storage is cheap and if delcampe did a better job at policing the ne-er-do-wells, we'd be back to when I was selling. At almost 24,000 positive feedbacks, most of them sales and some for good $, it is a slap in the face for the ridiculous fee scale existing.

Not going to beat the dead horse. I'm going elsewhere.

Let’s be honest—storage costs are simply not a valid excuse for the recent changes. I addressed this issue about image sizes in detail around eight months ago, but it seems nothing has changed.

Despite my efforts to upload carefully resized, optimized images at around 90kb each, the site inexplicably upscales these to roughly 400kb. This completely negates my work and makes the argument about storage costs meaningless. Why bother optimizing images if the system just makes them larger?

    To put things in perspective:

    - Cloud Storage Costs: Services like Amazon S3 charge approximately $0.023 per GB. This is a negligible expense at scale, especially considering the volume and value of listings on Delcampe.

    - No Respect for User Effort: The platform does not respect sellers who take the time to optimize their images, instead automatically upscaling files and increasing storage requirements unnecessarily.

Let’s not forget the roots of this site: stamps and postcards. Before the recent, illogical fee changes, we understood exactly what our margins were. Items listed under €0.35 would net us around €0.15–€0.20 after fees, and that was acceptable by us. We sold many lower-priced items, and both sellers and the site benefited.

I’ve been selling online for over 20 years (I’m 45 now), and it’s clear that whoever made these decisions has little to no understanding of the collectibles market. These changes are self-destructive—like jumping out of a plane without a parachute and hoping for the best.

What’s even more disappointing is that Delcampe hasn’t reached out for our feedback or input on these significant changes. The community that built this site has been completely sidelined.

We’ve set the end of this year as our deadline. If the fee system remains unchanged, we will be pulling the plug on our presence here. Sadly, I don’t have much hope that things will improve.
