    I'm reaching out to all sellers to hear about your experiences with the 14-day payment terms. Are buyers now delaying payments to the maximum 14 days, or have you noticed no change in their payment behavior?

    I don't see any difference from before. The vast majority of customers are completely unaware that there is such a thing as a two-week deadline, so they have no reason to change their payment behavior. I don't cancel when the 14 days are up. Why should I give up money that only arrives later?

    What is new is that there are more customers who don't pay at all. That's because of Delcampe. The offer simply states an amount that has to be paid. There is no mention of purchase fees. When the payment request comes, they see that they have to pay purchase fees. They feel cheated because that wasn't shown in the offer. They simply don't see that and play dead. They will probably buy somewhere else in the future.

    Good to read that you don't see delayed payments from your buyers. The not paying at all issue needs to be addressed by DC if it's a rising issue.

    I'm a private occasional seller/collector and I find the 14 days way too long between private parties.

    My old existing buyer pay instantly or a day later, but newbies go now to a week or even more, and I don't like it.

    It's not about the money, but about a decent behavior.

    And I will take after sales actions on such buyers as I am not depending on them.

    Good to read that you don't see delayed payments from your buyers. The not paying at all issue needs to be addressed by DC if it's a rising issue.

    My old existing buyer pay instantly or a day later, but newbies go now to a week or even more, and I don't like it.

    It's not about the money, but about a decent behavior.

    And I will take after sales actions on such buyers as I am not depending on them.
    Timing payment to me are as usual.
    I don't think that later payments are done to save.
    People can be busy with other things. Unpayment is a problem !! But you can never know the reason, sick, mistake....

    Hello Roterosen, imo 14 days is too long and ask for settlement within 7 days to avoid delays, confusions, forgetfulness, etc... and sent a reminder after 7 days when the invoice is still open.
    Nothing much has changed since before as most customers settle within a day or two...
    As Sammlerkalle said ; here too an increase in people who play dead... you can sent them 10 reminders and no answer at all ... I've tried humor , sarcasm , kindness but some are really unshakeable... :thebody: and finally to relieve a bit of my frustration I give them a 0 % for evaluation as really it is not decent to not reply even if it were just to say you didn't want the item. I do sent them a note accompanied that in case of illness or other unforeseen event that I'd be most willing to re-evaluate their review.

    I don't understand why you write it is Delcampe's fault that there are more customers not paying?
    Unless you have a different screen-board, the price shown is the price inclusive Delcampe fees ! So no surprises anywhere.
    There are simply no purchase fees anymore, so how can they feel cheated?
    What you buy is what you pay + delivery cost.
    You do have a point that there is an increase in people not paying at all ! As for its reason I have no clue but am fairly sure it has nothing to do with the inclusive prices.

    Correct the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) applies only to B2C. But DC makes no difference for C2C. @Karina63

    I don't see how the price breakdown on the invoice can influence a buyer ?
    A customer has already bid on or bought the articles for his collection based on the quality and price he saw on the pics, complemented with delivery costs he evaluated already whether this was worth his while... if not he would have gone elsewhere.
    After the sale he indeed sees the price breakdown , the same price he agreed upon, all inclusive.
    Why then would he hesitate or even abandon the deal after he sees the breakdown figures.
    All marketplaces ask commission fees these days...
    I do agree that the 30 cents per item fee is a sledgehammer.
    I am not here to make a profit... simply to guarantee and to bring my old collection into a new home rather then to donate them to some obscure wholesales person for tea and biscuits...
    But how can we justify asking f.e. 70 cents for a stamp today that before merely costed 30 cents...
    I have great difficulty with this new policy of DC to wear out the small private seller... as we too contribute to the conviviality of this site, but this awareness hasn't sunk in yet I suppose... :yes:

    You certainly have a point ! Being informative about fixed fees and percentages either included or added separately to the invoice is the task of the hosting marketplace and should be clearly stipulated up front.

    At starts I was much in favour of price breakdowns, and the fees being added separately to the invoice. Today however am not so sure that would be ethical and believe we would even have more dead sales on our hands...
    Especially these fixed fees of 30 cents per item; speaking of decency... personally I would be embarrassed to ask this of buyers... as even a fixed fee (which I have nothing against but) ought to follow a at least a price scale to be in balance to the sales price and certainly not (as today often is the case) exceed half or more the price value. So I'd very much welcome a review on these fixed fees asap if possible. :yes:

    The number of customers not paying has been increasing recently. The only positive change is that in such cases the seller no longer has to bother opening a dispute. Since Delcampe is missing out on platform fees, it is in their interest to find a solution. These days I simply relist unpaid items, blacklist buyers and leave 0% feedback. The problem solved until the next buyer.
