Maintaining the old images for new items

Approximately for one month I have noticed that in some cases when I generate new items based on existing old items using option "Sell a similar item", Delcampe saves not the new image but the old one from previous item. It is not particularly grate problem when you sell practically identical items, but for example in case of used stamps it can be very irritating because many buyers want particular cancellations. And if you generate completely different item based on something only distantly similar, it can create big misunderstandings between seller and buyer.

If you are listing big amount of new items, you can simply unnotice that the saved image is wrong.

For example before couple of weeks I listed single MH stamp based on item with full MNH set. In the description of new item Delcampe saved image of full set from old item, but I had not notices it. The new item was sold practically immediately. So I was forced to send buyer the full set instead for single stamp. As I had not at the moment MH of this set, I send my customer MNH set. As these stamps was pretty cheap all in all it was not very big deal for me, but it was only lucky incident and in other cases it can end with big loses or with nasty conflict.

Still then I have found some other cases when in description of new items are saved images from old ones. But this I discovered only by accident. Today during listing of new items I for certain registered such occasion.

So now I can only guess how many of my items have wrong images. The IT team of Delcampe must urgently to repair the system.

I think instead of messing with imagined problems such as unnecessary new payment tracking system, all energy of IT team must be directed on solving the real problems, which can create loses for Delcampe customers and damage the reputation of both sellers and Delcampe.

I often use an ended item as a template for selling similar or re-list sold items. Depending on how I do this, the old image will often be retained in the template (as will the old words) and will require updating by the person listing unless the new item is exactly the same as the old one......in the same way as the seller would update the words description.

Unless I have missed your point (which at my age is entirely possible), is it not up to the seller to ensure that, if the old & new items differ, the old image is deleted and the new one entered? The only other way would be for D not to retain any images at all in the drafts which means the seller updating images every time.

Thanks for your replay. I don't speak about generating new items from sold ones. I speak about generating new items from existing but yet unsold items. In these cases Delcampe deliberately don't allow to use old image to avoid so cold "false news". If you use option "Sell a similar item" from any active or closed but unsold previously listed item, the window for image is blank until you upload new picture. Exactly in such situation I noticed that after listing is completed it has previous not new image. For example today from my 100 and something new items at least two was generated with old images. It can't be my mistake. It obviously is system mistake.

Ah......very strange. I sometimes do that too. Will check my pics but had never noticed that occurring before.

As I wrote previously, I noticed it approximately month ago. I don't think that this problem existed long before. Until now I never met with fact that images of my sold items did not match with real items. So I conclude that this system mistake is new, perhaps one of the unwanted consequences of "new payment tracking system".

A week was gone, and no reaction from Delcampe. Nice. Sorry I forget that tomorrow is the grate day - the start of new invoicing system, and Delcampe team is very busy, because Monday is promising us new nice glitches and chaos.
