I'm finding the site dreadfully slow this morning though I am not modifying listings - I'm trying to pick and pack items won and paid for last night so I can get them in the mails today. As pages are 'hanging' or not loading at all I may have to give up and try again later which will muck up my schedule for today!

Well - I've given up. I've got better things to do than wait several minutes for each page to load. Picking and packing will have to wait until tomorrow or later this evening. Hopefully whatever bug is causing this will have been cured by then.

The site has been so sluggish and erratic throughout today. It would try the patience of a saint. This sloowness and frustrating response as the system continually hangs must affect sales dramatically. Why this continual problem? :smash:

I'm sure this also affects sales. Buyers are probably even more impatient than sellers. Why spend ages waiting for a page to load when one can go elsewhere and have pages load quickly and efficiently.

Several of my overseas contacts have commented Delcampe has been particularly slow today - as well as many of my UK friends. There does not appears to be any rhyme or reason why this continues to happen and is only detrimental to Delcampe as a whole.

Yes....same here even though I am in a different time zone and pick & pack around 4am Europe time (I suspect that is not the busiest of times for D!)

The site has been dreadfully slow for practically everything for several days now & shows little sign of improvement. I use Firefox as a browser & am constantly getting time-out or "cannot find server" messages......I use other auction sites too without any of these problems.......ever!

At the risk of repeating myself again, I find it odd that D do not seem to consider that getting the site to work properly is or should be a priority but insist on tinkering with the trivia instead.

Just as a matter of interest, I tracked the processes that are necessary to load any D page & compared that to other auction sites. Is it possible that the D software has been modified so often that it is now outdated & clunky? Or a server that needs replacement. Whatever is the problem that has recurred on & off for 2 or 3 years now.....how about some action.....in a few days.....???

Of course our sales are affected. As a buyer, I give up far more quickly than as a seller....after all, there are a myriad of of auction sites to buy from nowadays that don't seem to be affected by constant technical difficulties.

All that being said, D is (or would be) the best collectibles site on the net if only it worked properly 24/7 rather than intermittently.
