Samurai with Arquebus, 16th сentury
This samurai is clad in traditional Okegawa-do armor, characterized by a cuirass made from riveted metal strips without lacing, while the other armor components feature intricate lacing. He is armed with an arquebus, accompanied by essential equipment, including a powder flask, a bullet pouch, and a skein of wick. The white sashimono banner on his back displays the mon (family crest) of the Honda clan.
Ashigaru with the Flag, 1600.
The ashigaru is dressed in standard Okegawa-do armor. Tucked into his belt are two swords, signifying his status as a samurai. He wears a hachimaki headband reinforced with metal plates. A nobori flag, planted in the ground nearby, features the mon of Tokugawa Ieyasu, depicted three times on the vertical panel.
Mounted Samurai, 16-17 centuries
The samurai is mounted on a horse equipped with traditional tack. He is clad in kata-nugi armor. The cuirass features a lacquered, flesh-colored depiction of an emaciated torso on the right side of the chest. The left side and lower section are covered with sections of re-laced plates that imitate clothing. The helmet (kabuto) is adorned with horns (kuwagata) and includes a facial half-mask (mempo). The flag (sashimono) displays the mon of the Oda clan. In his right hand, he raises a cavalry sword (tachi).
