Selling form not supporting HTML in Description

    Hello,
I've been listing new item for the last few days. Items I listed Sunday and Monday are just fine, but when I tried listing items this morning I've run into a problem.
I'm using the selling form directly on the website and not the bulk lister. When I cut and paste my descriptions into the "Description" box it puts a space between every line of text in which I ended with a

. Also when I look at the item after I list it, all the html code is visible and doesn't show any of the photos I've of the items that I included in my description (I put them in the gallery too, but pictures are easier to see in description and look better too).
I've also noticed the form changed too. Usually, to the right of Title and Description boxes there is a "delete" which you can use to clear the form for your next item. The "delete" to the right of the Description box has disappeared. This makes it extremely slow to enter new items as it now takes additional steps to enter data via copy and paste.
I hope this is a temporary technical problem and not a new change. Please fix this error. If it is a new change to the system then it is a BAD one and makes the selling form unusable because it cannot support HTML code and is more difficult to copy and paste text. I won't be using it until it is fixed.
    Best regards,
    Will Battles

I've been using the seller form (not lister) every day, including today, using HTML without any problems so I have no idea what the problem is or whether it is peculiar to you.

Try using a different browser to access Delcampe and use the selling form and see if this has any effect. I have used Internet Explorer and Netscape 9 without problems but Chrome was causing some difficulties but these were to do with a spate of advertising pop ups annoying me that seemed to avoid my pop up blocker.

It looks like I spoke too soon:(:(

A few hours ago I listed without any problems using the selling form. Just tried listing a few minutes ago and the form is NOT supporting HTML.

Something has definitely changed and there is nothing in the announcements that I can see about any changes to the selling form.

So what is going on? Have changes been made to the selling form? If yes why are they unannounced?

Or is this a technical glitch of some sort?

I received an earlier reply from Benjamin that they are aware of the problem, but as of 8pm EST my time, it has not been corrected. At least it seems to be a glitch in the system. I rather have that then any change.

    Hello Benjamin,
The source button is working so I can now enter HTML. However, the blue "delete" button is still missing to the right of the Description box. The blue delete button is still next to the Title box. The delete button is very helpful to clear the box between listings when you have more than one item to list.
    Thanks,
    Will

I just tried listing a few items. Switching the source button helped. However, between listings, the source button switches back automatically to the format that doesn't allow HTML. It would be helpful for us to allow "sticky behavior" or to set a preferred default setting so we don't have to keep hitting the source button for every listings. And of course the missing "delete" button would make life a lot easier too.
    Thanks,
    Will

Well things were working OK for me but now the selling form is again too problematic to use.

It seems one has to enter the description information with each separate listing otherwise the information corrupts. As I use templates this is far too time intensive to do. I will wait a few days and see if things settle down. At least I can again use the Lister (after problems with it not downloading properly)

    Hi Ben.

I've been waiting for final fix of all difficulties in that "new listing form", but they seem to multiply. For those who blame browsers: same in IE (worse) and Firefox.
Here's what I have (actually don't have) with that new form:

    0) Yesterday, the only problem was in that when I wanted to create a new listing from just created one, formatting was lost (namely, the lines zigzagging that others mentioned here). But the created listing itself in its final form looked perfect. So that was "small thing".

    Today -
    1) Part of HTML tags simply disappear. Check the item I edited a few minutes ago (176422337 ) and the newly listed one as "sell similar (211461216 ). When I clicked "edit" on first one, I saw that formatting of description is partly lost: a) no centering, b) no colors. I copy-pasted the HTML code into new form and in pasted version disappeared:
and ; only remained their replacing my original . Spaces between lines and "new line" tags (options

    and

) also disappeared - all turned into simple

I started adding those codes MANUALLY (instead of copy-paste), but once I click on Source to see how will it look in final form, all those tags disappeared again.

    2) Paste from Word doesn't work either.
    3) Check out any of my numerous listings to see my style - how I want description to be and how it is in my listings since Jurasic era. Unless I try to edit ANYTHING, thy look nice; once I want to change anything, formatting of description gets spoiled.

    4) Look at the "instruments" on top of description box: those 3 buttons for centering options are "disabled" - don't work at all.

I believe this is worked on currently (maybe slower than wanted because people prefer to paint eggs on these days), but could I say that the old form was perfect, we got used to it, it accepted all tags, it had the precious "clear" button and "Preview" was just what you needed - why did you replace that simple instrument with "source", "select all"?
Let us have the old form for God's sake, or create something perfectly working BEFORE taking the old one. It should be possible to TEST a new feature in "laboratory" mode, instead of testing it in LIVE on users. We're getting old from all those experimenting. Or... is it only me?

    Hi. Thanks.
One small addition. Yesterday, I tried to edit the "Message from seller". I could see that colors, bold and such were all in order, but the feature of "centering" was missing (like in item description section). All text was aligned to left, and I could guess that if I make any change and SAVE it, that text without centering will appear on all listings. So I left it without editing. In short, the "centering" seems to be the weakest point by now.

I've also noticed that when I went to modify a listing for any reason, the html picture links I had in the description disappeared. I have to copy and paste my description all over again in order for the photo links to stay in the description.

Also after multiple listings, I really am missing the "delete" button next to the description box. It would be very helpful if that feature was to return as it saves a couple of steps per listing. Sticky behavior between listings would also be nice to keep the description form in the format I use. Otherwise I have to hit the source button with each listing.
    Thanks,
    Will

Well, as said - they are working on it. Let's be more patient. I am anxious too, because I need to relist, edit, etc., NOW, but I don't do it in order not to create more work for me when this is finally fixed.
Would stress again what was said above:
    1) "Delete" button should be returned; generally, it's a big question how many of sellers use those "prefilled" descriptions. Personally, I prefer to give more details then just those formal things. I always cleared the box before starting a listing from scratch.
    2) Description certainly should be "sticky" as one of you said. We often list new item using the old listing going by "list similar" button. But today, what we see is not "similar" at all. Certain portions of description text that would be great to see unchanged are actually "remade" so that you need to write (paste and format) them again.
I wish the extreme minimum were changed in this new listing form. Really shame that something that worked perfectly and never attracted attention became subject of "improvement".
