    1. New server

    HERE IT IS !

    The new server has been installed and has been running for more than two weeks. We suffered twice a minor "childhood disease" but nothing very serious. Up to now everything seems to be proceeding well.

    As we mentioned in a previous Newsletter, our server was unable to meet the demands of our growing community.

    The server was acquired thanks to the profit of the program "Stamp Delcampe.com", ( Vinculo (http) .
    Again, thanks to all who participed !

    2. New things on the site

    - The size limit on pictures goes up from 200 Kb to 500 Kb in order not to penalize those among us who do not know how to compress pictures.

    - On the auction page, the list of offers can be updated without having to refresh the entire page.

    - In the auction list, the seller's is mentioned next to the nickname (thanks to Anne who will recognize herself)

    - New icons for feedback in "My Account". In one glance, it is now possible to read the note given or received.

    - A page system in the forum.

    - When a member's account is closed, it is announced in his/her member page (the one seen after clicking on the nickname)

    - When an item is sold, the seller is told the number of bids and visits directly in the end-of-auction message.

    - Help is now available in Dutch (thanks Erik !)

    3. It is YOU who keep the site alive !

    Of course, you know the auctions ... but Delcampe.com is also first and foremost a community of collectors. You can participate in the life of the site ...

    - By writing an article in the magazine:

    4. Let's use the forum !

    It is true that given the number of members only few among us use the forum. Is it because most do not know about it? Or, because people are shy?

    The forum is THE meeting place for all Delcampers.

    What's the use of the forum?
    - To ask questions about your collection specialty, on the site, ...
    - To answer questions from other members.
    - To announce events in your area, give information, ...
    ... in sum, to talk !!!

    Isn't it natural to help one another and talk among collectors???

    5. Call for manners

    We have noted that a number of items were listed, voluntarily or not, in inappropriate categories. Besides incommodating buyers, this may incite errors and lead someone to bid on an item of no interest. We therefore appeal to your goodwill that you will replace your auctions in the appropriate categories and pay better attention in the future when you start a new auction.

    We take the liberty to remind you also of the importance of courtesy and politeness toward other members. During these last few weeks, several complaints were sent to us about this.

    This would make it better for all of us. Thanks!

    6. We are now more than 15.000 members !

    Our community grows by the day ... and ever faster!

    Today we are more than 15.000 members, thanks to all of you! Why "thanks to you"? Because we do very little advertisement in magazines and owe the vast majority of our registrations to the satisfied members of the site, who recommend it to one another. Continue to talk about it among your friends!
