The reason I am not a particularly active seller on Delcampe is because of the clunky way of dealing with sold items. My total feedback is nearly 600 and, for a month or two, once I did list quite a lot of items over here.

Then it came to actually posting out the sold items and, good grief, it was so slow! Today, elsewhere, I've picked and packed 89 items for 29 buyers - all done within two hours. That leaves lots of time to list new items, and make more money.

Over here, it would be back to the Stone Age - printing out a packing slip, leaving manual feedback, marking items sent - one by one. Blimey, I'd still be working by the time News at Ten was on the telly!

As for spreadsheets, it's a case of adapt or die. About ten years ago, it was possible to send postcards of Blackpool beach for £2 or £3 since there were few sellers but lots of new buyers. Now, there's a lot more competition and prices are lower unless the item you're selling is scarce.

Spreadsheets can speed up work incredibly and they are not difficult to learn. There's tons of videos to watch on the internet that show in minute detail how to mail merge to print address labels, for instance.

You might think I'm a lone voice on here but it seems there's a small bunch of regular posters who make a lot of noise and one or two are sometimes quite rude to Delcampe's staff. There's another 800,000+ Delcampers out there.

I just can't believe the praise for the old system.

It was rubbish! Unpaid and paid items mixed up together, no way to print dispatch notes or labels in bulk.

How you large sellers cope with the dispatch of large quantities of stuff I don't know. I sell mostly elsewhere and it's so much easier.

OK, the new system isn't perfect and it still doesn't sort out bulk printing (unless you export the data to spreadsheet). But it's a step in the right direction.
You may not beleive, but yes,I liked.
I'm printing anything and to be honest don't even think to start.
Old system was easy to use and there was no problem with seeing of paid and unpaid items.
Maybe for you new system is step in the right direction,as for me it's just mess.As far as I can see its is a mess for most of the users.

Also I'm not just a seller, but a buyer as well and a new page for purchased items is mess as well and bad for eyes,it looks like a game where in a mes you hace to find something ,my own feedback for all changes -

This is the best system for leaving feedback!

To be honest I think you've just popped along to wind us up...

Look, I'm simply pointing out - as an occasional Delcampe seller - the completely antiquated way that sales are handled under the old system.

I'd like to move more business over here but can't because it's too slow when processing sales. Delcampe try to improve things and then get a lot of abuse. OK, their new system is far from ideal but at least it's showing some improvement.

Can you not understand that time spent on handling sales is time that's not available to list new items?! It's a simple concept but clearly lost on this forum. And if I were to post manual feedback on the stuff I've sold elsewhere today, it would be an hour wasted.

The most vocal contributors on this forum are also the ones complaining about lack of sales. And again, they blame Delcampe.

It looks like nobody abusing D',but opposite.Old system was working just fine for most of us.Many big sellers never coplained about it,now about processing sales.Maybe for few it is the completely antiquated way ,but it used to work just perfect.
Handling sales on D. was,as for me,pretty easy, but not anymore. Now it takes much more time.
As for manual feedback,in my own opinion,D' system is works good. Maybe your'e using somewhere automatic feedback system,so you could propose this option to D' long ago.I'm sellilng somewhere else as well, but not a big fan of automatical leaving of the feedback.
There are some other things, that D.can improve, but not something that is properly working (as for many sellers).
What we have today is a mess and time wasting for all sides.

I've been a member of Delcampe for seven years and am fully aware of the problems on here with images last year and the aggro during February.

Sold an item tonight and, as others mention, the invoice goes to the buyer without shipping charges - which takes a few seconds to correct but it's a pain.

But do you see what I'm getting at when I'm saying that Delcampe is poor for handling sales? Why on earth do we have to send invoices???!!! What a waste of time. If you buy something on any major retailing web site do you wait for an invoice?

On the other hand, Delcampe's lister and Easy Uploader and are first class.

If I'm buying a single item on other sites on buy it now, then no, I don't usually wait for an invoice, but if I'm buying via auction, or buying multiple items, (often spread over a few browsing sessions), then yes I do expect an invoice.

As usual, you make a lot of sense. The biggest problem was the order of events

Untested system introduced that had to be withdrawn after a few days because it simply failed.
Nearly 2 months later the system was introduced again still poorly tested and with glitches that should have been corrected before re-intoduction.......that is what annoyed me, not the system per se.

I now sell on several other sites all of which have different invoicing etc systems - provided my sales on those sites are profitable, I can tolerate a few nanoseconds extra in admin time. For me, Delcampe's system is about average in process time.

The quickest specialist collectors site I have seen for invoice etc process is one in the USA.....no admin time needed at all. The buyer pays the site and site advise me.....all I have to do is click a button to enter the delivery date.......job done & I get paid by the site the instant that I have clicked the date that I intend to post the order. New system?.......no, it was introduced over 10 years ago!
