"Missing" sales

As probably everyone does, I list my items - both fixed price & auctions - to renew x number of times.

I usually list as auctions ending Saturday evening so that I have most of Sunday preparing orders etc. which leaves midweek to list items.

Many of my sales have just closed and I've noticed that when I check my "live" sales, many (a few thousand) are just not there. According to my sales page, I have 7,731 stamp items for sale. If I click on view all items in stamps sub-category...., that returns only 708 items. These must have been "missing" for a couple of hours now.

Is this because they are treated like new sales - ie taking ages to appear? I would have thought that it would have been very simple to just renew immediately and not disappear.

Assuming that this is the reason, has there always been this problem? Has anyone else noticed this and, if so, how long do they go "missing" for?

    Mike,

There was a problem like that a couple of years ago and very occasionally there is the odd day when it's a bit slow to have closed sales relisted.

Have you checked in your My Delcampe> my selling ongoing to see if they are all still there marked as "closed"? Usually they stay there until they get relisted.

    Thanks Marianne.

They've recently reappeared before I've had chance to check - I'll keep an eye on it next week.

Still - it's not very good to have the majority of your sales disappear for any length of time.

You probably only notice because you have them set to end more or less all at the same time - mine are starting/ending at all hours of the day or night, depending on when I list them, and there are usually a few 'missing' to use your phrase whilst they are waiting to restart.

This process is generally transparent since we receive no notification of ending or restarting, and it's certainly not something I'm going to get het up about as I know I'm not the only seller here and am happy to wait for the system to take its course and launch the items once again
