Query in Exporting from UK to EU - VAT Tax process

    Hi,

I am thinking about starting to sell here again.

How does one account for EU VAT?

I have read that Delcampe collects the tax when the seller pays with Delcampe Pay. But I will be using PayPal.

Is there any need for me to indicate that tax is due on my packages or do I just fill in the tax form and pop it in the post?

    Thanks!

    Hi "Roger_Davie",

Basically, the only way for Delcampe to collect VAT and transfer it to the Member State of destination is if the payment is done through Delcampe Pay. In this case, buyers can choose if they want to pay the import fees while paying for their purchase. If the import fees are paid through Delcampe Pay, the seller of the item needs then to indicate the import VAT number on the customs declaration to inform that the fees have been paid.

From what we know, whether or not the import fees were paid through Delcampe, professional sellers outside the EU shipping items to buyers in the EU have to attach a customs declaration to their shipments.
We cannot provide you with more details as we do not to deal with the shipment of items. It is best if you directly check this information with Royal Mail (or the transport service you are using).

    Have a great day,
    Miranda
