German army soldiers wearing Pickelhaube and Stahlhelm, which means time era is during WWI.

If you could make a blow-up image/scan of the upper half of the first postcard (min. 600 dpi), it would be possible to read the signs at the shops. The images seems to be taken somewhere were people had typical Polish and Jewish names. One sign says Mieczysław and another says Moses Wanderer. The hotel sign in the uppermost right corner ends with "...ski".

The handwritten text indicates where three senior officers are standing. If I decipher the text correctly, one of them is a Lieutenant General (Generalleutnant), a one-star general.

I think it only means "Vorbeimarsch vor den Generälen" and then three x's to point to the three x's on the picture below. The second one I can't really read "? Abmarsch von der Parade". No place, I think. It must be one of the smaller towns in Galicia (in today's Poland and Ukraine).

I'm also posting the back of the cards. I can't read any of them. Maybe you see something important to identify?

    Both say

"Zum Andenken an unserer Kaisergeburtstags-Parade in Galizien"

= "Commemorating our parade of the Emperor's Birthday in Galicia"

The date of the signature is 28 January 1918, the parade must have been on 27 January.

Emperor Wilhelm II. had his birthday on 27 January, which was widely celebrated in the German Empire and by German soldiers elsewhere, until that last time in 1918...

I can't read the place name right now, but maybe I'll try again later.

I got it: it's the market square in Brzezany (Berezhany, Бережани, now in Ukraine).

Here's a postcard with the hotel:

Here's a mention of the shop of Moses Wanderer ("Galanteriewarenhandel" = haberdasher)

As so often, the stupid delcampe forum software destroyed a link. Here's the same link shortened with tinyurl:

Just post the stuff here. I can read many older German scripts, but not everything. It's always good to have many people look if they know something. Please make sure to: 1. scan complete cards as good and large as possible and 2. always include also the back (even if it's blank), and 3. include everything you already know about the card.

One advise: Only list an item for €1 if you really are interested in getting €1.

This kind of real photo picture postcards has a market, but the market is perhaps not present at Delcampe, yet.

The postcard can easily fetch €10-15 since the place is in Ukraine. I would list it as a auction for €9.99 and then wait for the right buyer(s).
