It looks as if there is writing on the building in the background.
Would it be possible to take a real high definition scan and see if you can make out any of the writing when zooming in? There could be some clues there.

The postcard is of some where in Haywards Heath in Sussex. The picture has been used for a Ordnance Survey Cover of the area.

I have just found a new way of identifying unidentified postcards. If you have a Android smart phone you can down load a free App called Google Goggles which allows you to do a visual search with a picture taken with the phones camera. So far it has found the identity of 2 postcards out of 30 or so that I have tried. But I am sure that as time goes by that will improve. It also works with people. The more famous or well document the better chance it has of a finding a match. It is worth a shot if there is no other way of identifying a card.
