    During the 2nd Boer war the Transvaal commandos captured parts of Natal fighting battles in Dundee and besieging Ladysmith. If these overprints are genuine (and I don't know if they are) they would reflect overprints created during that period. I think there were some Cape overprints as well and subsequently a lot of Transvaal and OFS stamps overprinted with VR when the pendulum of war swung against the Boers.
