    Wz (Wasserzeichen) stehend is the normal position of the watermark (called x by Michel)
    Wz liegend is the sideways watermark (filigrane couché in the French Yvert catalog) (called y by Michel)

    By x = Die Wellenlinien sind waagerecht = The wavy lines are horizontal
    By y = Die Wellenlinien sind senkrecht = The wavy lines are vertical
