Die Illustration des Briefes stellt die Katastrophe vom 28.5.2025 dar, als das Dorf Blatten unter Eis und Fels begraben wurde.
Es ist eine Bildkompostion aus dem Bild Blatten, sowie tatsächlichen Elementen von Aufnahmen der herunter stürzenden Eis und Geröllmassen, wie sie beim Bergsturz aus der Sicht des gegenüber liegenden Berghanges festgehalten wurden.

L'illustrazione nella lettera raffigura la catastrofe del 28 maggio 2025, quando il villaggio di Blatten fu sepolto sotto ghiaccio e rocce.
Si tratta di un'immagine composita dell'immagine di Blatten, insieme a elementi reali tratti da fotografie del ghiaccio e dei detriti in caduta, catturate durante la frana dal punto di vista del versante opposto della montagna.

The stamp has no official issue date. There is neither a special cancellation nor any philatelic collectible items from Swiss Post. The stamp was announced on the Swiss Post website on July 31, 2025. The first day of sale was the Swiss national holiday, August 1, 2025.
The illustration in the letter depicts the catastrophe of May 28, 2025, when the village of Blatten was buried under ice and rock.
It is a composite image of the Blatten image, along with actual elements from photographs of the falling ice and debris, captured during the landslide from the viewpoint of the opposite mountain slope.

Am 28. Mai 2025 brach ein grosser Teil des Birchgletschers unter der zusätzlichen Belastung von rund neun Millionen Tonnen Bergsturzmaterial des Kleinen Nesthornes (3342 m ü. M.) ab. Die dadurch ausgelöste Schutt- und Eislawine verschüttete rund 90 Prozent des Dorfes Blatten.
Mit dem Kauf einer Briefmarke «Blatten – Lötschental» der Schweizer Post werden direkt Menschen in Not unterstützt. Der Zuschlag von 5.00 trägt dazu bei, akute Notlagen im Dorf Blatten zu lindern. L'avalanche de débris et de glace qui en a résulté a enseveli environ 90 % du village de Blatten.

On May 28, 2025, Switzerland experienced an unprecedented natural disaster. The village of Blatten and the hamlet of Ried in the Lötschental valley were almost completely destroyed by a debris and ice avalanche. Most of the approximately 300 residents lost everything. The pile of debris in the buried mountain village of Blatten is estimated to be up to 100 meters high in places.
On May 28, 2025, a large portion of the Birch Glacier collapsed under the additional load of approximately nine million tons of landslide debris from the Kleiner Nesthorn (3,342 m above sea level). The resulting debris and ice avalanche buried approximately 90 percent of the village of Blatten.
