Issued by Sudan in 1988 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Sudanese Red Crescent Society (1957–1987), Sudan’s national humanitarian organization and affiliate of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

The stamps celebrate three decades of humanitarian aid, disaster response, and health services provided by the Red Crescent across Sudan.

The Sudanese Red Crescent Society, established in 1957, has played a vital role in providing emergency medical services, first aid, disaster relief, and health awareness programs across Sudan, especially during times of war, displacement, and famine.
