The medal in the image is the Medal of Conjugal Merit (Médaille du Mérite Conjugal) from the Republic of Zaire (now the Democratic Republic of the Congo).
Medal Information
Country: Republic of Zaire (Democratic Republic of the Congo).
Established: Created and organized by an ordinance on November 16, 1983.
Purpose: Awarded to couples in recognition of long married life and conjugal union.
Design: The obverse (front) of the medal features the profiles of a man and a woman.
Grades: The medal was issued in different classes based on the length of the marriage:
Bronze medal: For at least 15 years of marriage.
Silver medal: For at least 25 years of marriage.
Gold medal: For at least 30 years of marriage.
Ribbon: The ribbon is red with narrow green and yellow stripes on the edges.
