This hidden price is ridiculous

You're fine if you want to group lots yourself (even previously listed ones). The only time you are going to get bonked is if you are actively colluding with a buyer to avoid fees, or promoting that service in your blurb.

Like you I sell a lot of lower value lots. I was a seller only here for a number of years but have recently reopened my shop on the large site. I only list manually so the quick API solutions were not available to me.

My compromise under the new system is that I was selling definitives singly. I'll now only do this for high catelogue value ones, with the remainder going into a single lot of the same condition (Used/MH). Commemoratives are still being listed in sets as I can think of no way of combining neatly. I'm actively removing old stock here to relist under the my new listing scheme.

As sales have slowed down here (as I anticipated when I first saw their proposal) once this new lot has been created I'll then consider where to list it. Unfortunately for Delcampe for higher value lots I'm listing elsewhere (and then creating a duplicate lot for here if I can - often with fewer values). The lots tend to sell faster over there and the fees are now so similar (even cheaper in some cases) that the slower selling time here means I need to move stock.

My store has shrunk from 10.5k listings to under 8k listings which is what Delcampe wanted, and is still shrinking. I'm now getting higher sales overall thanks to sales on the other site, and my lower value lots continue to be listed here for buyers to fill the odd space (albeit with a hefty delcampe fee markup).

I still prefer delcampe to the moustashe site to list as it is more compliant with UK/EU law for sellers over here (Distance Selling, IOSS, Consumer Waste etc) so I can see there may be a time that the moustashe site have to exit the market here (as Delcampe have in some USA states due to your complex sales tax regieme). Delcampe's analysis that the EU market is getting more regulation is correct, it's getting harder to sell within and into.

Hi Steve, you are right about the grouping of items.

Grouping items post-interest can lead to complications, including a potential loss of fees for Delcampe.
Our policy allows for the grouping of low-value items into a single listing before a buyer expresses interest (so proactively, not reactively). This is to ensure transparency and fairness for all users on our platform.

I follow exactly what you say and who you say it about. I may go there because I have a postcard store over there and have many more to sell. I sell mostly to U.S. customers and sold a lot of odd definitives and commems here as well. I think many private sellers do much the same - or at least have in the past.

As mentioned in another post, I have to re-think exactly how I want to sell stuff. I just have so many stamps and except for my specialties, such as Belgian RR cancels and Austria, Germany and older Hungary, I pretty much keep them but have sooooooooo many duplicates.

I haven't run into the tax schemes yet, nor have tried to avoid them. I need to get "Hip" (pun intended) about this soon. One thing I notice is the moustache site doesn't reply in any reasonable manner about big questions and one I wanted to have answered is if there's a bulk re-pricing / change global postage rates in sync with those prices. Delcampe has that feature, which is neat but doesn't cover the other issues we're all facing.

Yeah, I was here for quite some time and then got sick / life things - you know the deal.

I just hoped that coming back would be a reasonable effort, but it has turned out to be much harder on the seller to group items / sell lower price items and the buyer eats a pretty big cost, even on items say $15 or more.

I'd not like to abandon Delcampe because of my extensive history. I believe it has been 17 years ago since I started. I'll have to look but I think it was 2007. I may have buying much earlier than that. I was on the other serious money grubber (think harbors, ships and bays) and weird mailing regs using their labels for a while and it went well until they got greedy and wanted higher priced items, many of which have been there for a long time.

I disagree about the server space here, because hard drive costs are minimal. Interconnecting the network may be a price hog at times, but a 10 meg .jpg is far too big for a seller to post - even whole stock sheets. Mine average about 2 meg for a full sheet that are clear and distinct. Multiple sheets may make up the full 10 meg at times, but I crop my scans and don't leave a ton of useless borders on my items. This all came about when I was doing auctions for a brick and mortar dealer. I wrote up his quarterly auctions from handwriting to digital format and got my tricks down, being a computer consultant anyway. I think that's a poor excuse because instead of raising prices for it, sellers can cut back on the size of their scans, especially single items.

Anyway, onward and forward. Have a good day.

Apparently this website is committing suicide? Very sad. Has been great, but nothing new showing up now.

I thought with the new payment system, the price listed was the actual price of the item. But, with the last two items I purchased, the sellers added both shipping fees, and the Delcampe fees (10% + 0.30 euros). Why are they allowed to do this? I thought the new system would add transparency, and instead it makes the listed price inaccurate.

    Very interesting comments!
Maybe I should also consider leaving this platform.
Not thrilled paying more for nothing.
