In a recently purchased collection I came across the pictured stamp identified as Fiji SG69a.
This variety does not appear in any of my catalogues and an online search has not revealed any information about this item particularly in how it differs from the standard 5 Shilling stamp to make it SG69a rather than SG69.
If anyone has access to more detailed information it would be greatly appreciated.
It does indeed appear to be SG 69a, which has a red arc above FIJI, cat. £550 mint, £250 used (SG Part 1, 2023). SG offers no explanation for the variety.
