I am a buyer; I rec'd an invoice from a seller; I can only choose delcampe pay as a payment method. I tried to use delcampe
pay before, but I am being charged high foreign exchange fees, so I do not want to use it. delcampe does not seems to be a good idea if your home currency is not EUR.
why am I being forced to use something I do not want to use?
I have no choice but to ask the seller for his paypal address.

    can you please help?

This is probably because the seller has indicated he only accepts Delcampe Pay.

Contact the seller and find out if he accepts Paypal or not. If not you can ask to cancel the sale or pay by the method indicated. I doubt if this is due to Delcampe who are pretty flexible as to which payment method is used to pay for items.

Thanks, I did contact the seller; I now paid directly to his paypal account.

I tried using delcampe pay; for a buyer outside the EUR area, there are two foreign exchange transaction involved: in my case I tried paying two invoices:
the original invoices were in EUR:
delcampe pay converted my payments to USD, my card issuer converted USD to GBP, adding their charges. This makes delcampe pay more expensive to use for buyers. If delcampe pay did not automatically convert payments via VISA to USD...

on the other hand, Paypal simply converts the invoice to GBP directly, eliminating most of the various exchange fees, so it is cheaper to use for payments up to EUR 200.

I do not know what happens if I buy in GBP and use Delcampe Pay; I hope it would not convert my payment to USD, and then VISA would convert it back to GBP charging a foreign exchange commission along the way! that is far from ideal.

    tks and regards
