Venezuela, Scott #C715 (Catálogo Especializado de Estampillas #1373), used (o), air mail, 1960, Centenary of the Death in 1959 of Agostino Codazzi (1793-1859); Codazzi was an Italo-Venezuelan soldier, scientist, geographer, cartographer, and governor of Barinas; map-making was a critical activity for the newly independent South American countries after the tumultuous post-independence years from the Spanish Empire as it was necessary to establish borders for governing territories, orange yellow and brown, engraved by Bundesdruckerei, Berlin, perforated: 14, 10 centimos, Scott 2019 catalog value: 25¢. Nicely centered, light non-descript partial cancellation over central image, sound back, hinge remnant, penciled Scott identification marks on back, good perforations. This is not a 'bait-and-switch' offer. The stamp you see will be the stamp you receive.
