«Kunst am Bau» Wie bei ihren Vorgängerinnen spielt auch bei dieser Sondermarke die Materialität eine bedeutende Rolle bei der Gestaltung, denn sie vermittelt den Pfeiler, für den die Marke steht. Um der im Sujet dargestellten Betonwand auch eine haptische Dimension zu verleihen, wurden dem ultramatten Lack Zementpigmente beigemischt. Warum Beton als Symbolträger? Dieses Material nimmt in der Architekturgeschichte eine wichtige Rolle ein. Beton verhalf der Kunst, die vorher mehrheitlich als Dekor angesehen wurde, ihre Eigenständigkeit als Kunstform zu erlangen. Als Markensujet repräsentiert die symbolische Betonwand einen Kunstpfeiler, der Postgebäude in der ganzen Schweiz prägt. Wie kam es zu diesem schweizweiten Portfolio von «Kunst am Bau»-Werken? Der Bund erliess nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg eine Verordnung, laut der jeweils ein Prozent der Bausummen von Staatsgebäuden in «Kunst am Bau»-Projekte investiert werden sollten. So entstanden bis heute rund 180 Projekte. 75 davon sind noch heute im Besitz der Post. Als historisches Erbe bereichern sie den öffentlichen Raum und erzählen auf künstlerische Weise ein Stück Schweizer Geschichte.

«L’art dans l’architecture» Comme pour ses prédécesseurs, le matériau joue également un rôle majeur dans la conception de ce timbre spécial car il renvoie directement au pilier illustré par le timbre. Afin de conférer une dimension tangible au mur de béton représenté comme sujet, des pigments de ciment ont été mélangés au vernis ultra-mat. Mais pourquoi avoir choisi le béton comme étendard? Parce que ce matériau occupe une place centrale dans l’histoire de l’architecture. Le béton a aidé à l’art, qui relevait majoritairement du simple décor à l’époque, à devenir une forme artistique à part entière. En tant que sujet de timbre, ce mur de béton matérialise donc un pilier de l’art présent dans les bâtiments postaux de toute la Suisse. Comment est né ce portefeuille suisse d’œuvres d’«art dans l’architecture»? Après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, la Confédération a édicté une ordonnance selon laquelle 1% du coût de chaque construction de bâtiments publics devait être investi dans des projets d’«art dans l’architecture». Environ 180 projets ont déjà vu le jour, dont 75 sont encore en possession de la Poste. Véritable patrimoine historique, ils enrichissent l’espace public et racontent un pan de l’histoire de la Suisse en termes de création artistique. .

«Arte in architettura» Come per i suoi predecessori, anche per questo francobollo speciale il materiale gioca un ruolo fondamentale nella realizzazione, collegandosi direttamente al pilastro correlato al dentello. Per conferire una dimensione tattile al muro raffigurato come motivo, la vernice extra opaca è stata miscelata con pigmenti di cemento. Perché scegliere il cemento come simbolo? Questo materiale ha un ruolo importante nella storia dell’architettura, in quanto ha permesso all’arte di passare dall’essere una mera espressione decorativa a una vera e propria forma artistica. Usato come motivo del francobollo, questo muro di cemento simboleggia un pilastro artistico che caratterizza gli edifici postali di tutta la Svizzera. Com’è nato questo portafoglio svizzero di opere di «arte in architettura»? Dopo la Seconda guerra mondiale la Confederazione emanò un’ordinanza secondo cui l’1% della somma destinata alla costruzione di edifici statali doveva essere investito in progetti di «arte in architettura ». Da allora sono stati realizzati circa 180 progetti, 75 dei quali sono ancora oggi di proprietà della Posta. Autentico patrimonio storico, queste opere impreziosiscono i luoghi pubblici raccontando una parte della storia svizzera attraverso l’arte.

“Art in architecture” As with its predecessors, the materials used for this special stamp again play an important role in its design, suggesting the pillar for which the stamp stands. To give the concrete wall depicted in the design a tactile dimension, cement pigments were added to the ultra-matt finish. Why concrete as a symbol? This is a material that plays an important role in the history of architecture. Concrete helped art, previously seen by most people as decorative, to attain its independence as an art form. As a stamp design, the symbolic concrete wall represents an artistic pillar that characterizes Swiss Post buildings throughout Switzerland. How did this nationwide portfolio of “Art in architecture” works come about? After the Second World War, the Swiss Confederation enacted an ordinance stipulating that one percent of public building construction should be invested in “Art in architecture” projects. Around 180 such projects have been completed to date, with 75 of them still owned by Swiss Post today. These artworks are part of our historical heritage, enriching the public space and telling us about a piece of Swiss history.
