1887 INTACT REGISTERED COVER. 1887 (26 Jan) 2d registered stationery envelope from London, England to Carthagena, uprated with GB 2½d stamp, on reverse a framed "CERTIFICADO / 29 Enro 87 / MADRID" datestamp with the "CERTIFICADO / 30 Enro 87 / CARTAGENA" arrival handstamp alongside. Duly dated and signed by the recipient when handed back to the Post Office as a receipt, unless reclaimed the cover should then have been publicly burnt 6 months later.
