1800-49 COLLECTION of letters/wrappers (30) each displayed in two ring binders, each item identified & well written up with historical notes, incl. a letter 1801 from Robert Bowyer regarding a commission to paint Lord Nelson with 'Pall Mall/Unpaid Penny Post,' 1821 London to Dublin letter concerning impending bankruptcy but an offer of prayers for deliverance with Irish receiving mark, 1832 letter from Edward Leathes Army Officer & Cricketer regarding an upcoming match at Louth, sent from 'Lords Ground' with 'To Pay' and '2' charge mark, other marks noted incl. 1835 'Cheltenham/Penny Post,' 1831 Kendal/By Post.' Album 2 - Free Frank & Official Govt Department Mail/Fronts, 40 items covering the period 1780's-1874 incl. from William Henry Bouverie, first Earl of Radnor with early example of the undated FREE within a circle, other different Type FREE marks, other marks incl. HADDINGTON/PENNY POST, 1839 COLDSTREAM/PENNY POST etc. Viewing recommended. (70 items). An interesting lot.
