1937-52 KGVI VERY FINE USED - AWESOME SPECIALISED COLLECTION! neatly displayed on expertly annotated album pages this amazing collection shows very fine c.d.s. used stamps, arranged by issue and then by printing date (the excellent Potter & Shelton guide list to this country is included), for example we see the myriad of wartime printings of the 1938-52 defins set have all been identified - these are not listed in SG. This fastidious collector sought out many hard to find printings and also added attractive covers he considered would enhance the collection, either for their wonderful frankings or on First Day Covers. The collection begins with the 1938-52 defins set complete with 5s x10 incl. rare 5s reddish lilac & blue on thin striated paper (cat.£700), £1 x3 incl. deep grey-green & black on thick paper with clearly dated cancel, also a couple of different FDCs for various values, 1938 Pictorial defins with many shades / printings plus 4d on "Sea Floor Bahamas" illustrated cover, 1931-46 2s x6 & 3s x6 "Seal" issues, 1942 "Landfall of Columbus" ovpts set with £1 x3 plus 3s blocks x2 and complete set on cover, 1948 Tercentenary set plus a few values in blocks of four, also some lovely commemorative stamp items from 1937 Coronation includes the set in blocks of four with first day of issue cancels and on three different FDCs incl. illustrated, through to the 1949 UPU set on FDC. A simply outstanding top quality collection formed over many years, item by item (over 170 stamps + 15 blocks + 14 covers).
