In my opinion, DC is handling this poorly. Why? Despite receiving extensive feedback on the changes and issues from user, they refuse to share their analysis of the impact these changes have had. Unlike in the past, DC has not provided any current website or user data, and I can’t help but wonder why. This so-called "major" survey focuses solely on the new payment system. Sharing updated data on how their website is actually performing (users, sales, etc.) would go a long way in building trust, but it seems they are reluctant—or perhaps afraid—to do so.

I disagree, because we all have the chance to send a message in direct to Mr. D with the promise, he reads them all........here is my request:
    :rules:

disregarding the other damages, we sellers had to suffer in 2024, the WORST of all was to introduce the lower-bis option by force (against the will of many sellers) By this, you have undermined the integrity and competence of all sellers. Once a buyer is allowed to place such unwanted underbids, he will of course continue that way and never accept the initial price anymore. Okay, we can ignore or refuse such lower bids, but this causes only a lot of tensions and "bad blood" between buyer and seller. Before, it was PERFECT: we had the choice, either to accept or to decline that option as a whole. Now buyers are INVITED to - no matter the seller does not want that. Be a good sport and go back to the previous setting, then my MAIN PROBLEM is solved. Thanks in advance

I think you missed the point... DC wants input but DON'T share output...
NO communication on how all the changes actually reflect in members, users, sales etc...
Why are they hiding statistics? They were much more transparent in the past...

    Hi to everybody !
I represent 18 clients and I have answered with a personal message to Mr. Delcampe asking for revert back to the old payment system where sellers pay commissions and buyers can pay by bank transfer credit card, paypal or any other system (like e*)

I agree with @Roterosen the actual low bid system is not useful. Before the change to the lower offer system my clients received offers at a 5/10% discount even for items that had just been put on sale. And the sales were excellent. Now they only receive offers at -30% which logically are all rejected

Delcampe have not shared that data for a long time. Very few companies share the results of their market research or sales position unless it reflects positively on them outside of their annual results season (including messages just before the results to manage expectations of shareholders) when they are oblidged to share some negative news.

If sales had surged when the new system came in we would have heard about it!

I'm with you on the first, buyer fees should be abolished and were only bought in to hide a fee rise that disproportionally affected the bigger sellers due to the abolition of gold and volume discounts on listing and fvf fees.

For the second, I'm not sure what the difference is with mangopay/paypal and e* as it is now for payments. I think that Delcampe needed to make this change due to legal issues. Previously, I think the majority of payment issues buyers and sellers were encountering were when payment was made off site via cheque, cash or direct bank transfer. I was only accepting Paypal/ Delcampe Pay prior to the change because of this, so have seen no difference.

    Hi Steve
For e* payment I means Delcampe use the same payment system: ALL payments go to Delcampe and THEN Delcampe send money to the seller. With this system Delcampe clear any lack of commission payment

As stated by Sebastien Delcampe during youtube conference Delcampe have changed commission payment system due to too many lack of commission payments.

I assume DC is reading all this, hence here is my pledge...

    COMMUNICATE!

    1. Traffic Metrics
    2. Engagement Metrics
    3. Additional Marketplace-Specific Metrics

This would build credibility, fosters trust, encourages engagement, attracts new users, and differentiates from the competition.

DC's own statement from 2020 was the latest to be found...

"As of its 20th anniversary in 2020, the platform served over one million collectors monthly. It is recognized as the leading marketplace in its niche, "Collections and Antiquities," and is ranked among the top 30 global marketplaces by Cross-Border Commerce Europe. Over 10,000 items are sold daily, emphasizing its strong community and vibrant trade activity."

But then ... while transparency is beneficial, sharing DECLINING TRENDS can backfire!
We can only speculate if this is the reason they not share any metrics since 2020.

I copied what you see in the graphic from the current homepage. Whether the numbers are correct is another matter. At least the first number doesn't seem to be, as there are currently only around 80 million offers.

Here is an overview of how Delcampe's profit has developed in recent years (in German). Please search for the word "Gewinn" (top right) - it means "profit". Of course, it will be exciting to see how the year 2024 develops. You can see that there around July. But even if the changes mean that Delcampe has more profit again, that doesn't change anything for me. Because I can't buy bread with Delcampe's profit, I can only do that with my own profit. And if it goes down here anyway, I'll just have to look elsewhere.
