Postage Rate Calculator

    Just moved my shop across to the new templates.

    Setting up the templates was painless (did 2, one for Large items (booklets/Miniature Sheets/Covers) and another for Stamps)

    Amended 9k items in under 30 mins using the multiple changes was really easy (I searched for M/S, covers, FDC etc and set the template to the large template on these items; then set the rest of items to the stamp template).

    Make sure you set the shipping time on the shop sales conditions page, mine was defaulted to 14 days!

    Will wait to see how the amended selling process works, but thumbs up so far.

    Looking further into the templates, you only seem to be able to set postage for 3 areas (set by delcampe). For me that is UK, World and Europe.

    One thing that would be useful is some sort of country override(s) due to the increasingly complex postage situation (The UK has 4 international postage zones currently, doubling from a couple of years ago)

    An example of times when an override may be useful :

    Parcel post must be used for XYZ due to stupid rules.
    Registered post must be used for ABC due to previous losses.
    Costs are increased to PQR due to fuel surcharges

    These could be catered for from a note in the specific conditions, but you always get some buyers who don't read them. Thankfully for me at present none of these need to be used, but looking at the way things are moving these may bee needed in future.

    The postage zones problem exists also for Italy: The European rates applies also to some Mediterranean countries (e.g. Israel, Tunisia) and there are different rates between Asia+Americas and Oceania.
    It will also be useful a distinction in Europe between EU and non-EU countries (UK, Switzerland, Russia).

    The feature to apply a fee template to your ongoing items is opened to any seller, no matter their subscription.

    Regarding your suggestion to customize tracked and registered shipping on a country level, may I kindly advise you to send it through this form: Link (https)
    It could be part of a future improvement.
    So far, templates allow you to make it mandatory for buyers to pay for a registered shipment if they are paying by a certain payment method such as PayPal.
