MULTIPLE LISTINGS

Is it just me? I like browsing thru big lists, I never know what might catch my eye (but I do search a subject sometimes) but I keep coming across the same item, listed more than once, I'm sure sometimes at different prices! I did ask Delcampe about this in the early days of the new website but don't think it was ever answered. Is it Delcampe boosting the total number of lots they have for sale or the value of them or some function of my search? I admit of course that occasionally members do list items more than once by mistake but not this often!
    Or is it just me?

A bit of a sore point.

If you are talking about used stamps, provided the postmark is different on each of them (which it would be), these are considered different items.

Anyone with a large inventory might have multiple identical listings (and that is likely to include myself). When listing newly obtained stock over several years, it is no surprise that one may not remember exactly what is listed and it is easy to duplicate, but this should only be the odd item.

Delcampe tried to clamp down on purposefully listed duplicates several years ago, but they lost the argument (as stated above).

They might be listed in different categories, e.g. country & topic

There was one seller who did list hundreds of identical mint items. He was told to remove them and use the one listing with number of items instead. Now he is no longer on Delcampe - presumably because he could not alter his listing formula to comply. But he is active with his one million plus items on other free listing sites.

If you find a seller with multiple listings of the same identical item you should report them to Delcampe and they will be told to remove them. As Mainly has said this does not apply to used stamps where the postmark is different for each listing. This is actually useful to me because I do list multiples of the same used stamp - particularly used UK commemorative stamps because I actually sells lots and lots of them. My customers know they are getting the exact item shown in the scan.

With unused/mint items I list the multiples within one listing like with UNC banknotes for example.

Yes, I know there are people who list or have listed lots of boring bits, these I avoid!
I will have another look for a case in point but really am a bit lazy and can't usually be bothered to go back.
I don't like to accuse any seller particularly but will look.
I do wonder if it was a function of a lot being listed under more than one heading.
Neither do I like to accuse Delcampe but wonder if lots for sale have taken a dive since the introduction of the new website?
    Will look again, thanks

I still occasionally see items listed twice but not the ones I might want (?) but really it is very boring to try and find them! I don't think its the seller, is it Delcampe trying to boost total value or numbers of items at auction on their new website?
I must admit to have got used to new site!
