Can someone please check something for me.

A customer just tried to pay (several times) with paypal, but came up with an error

"Data does not match input character set or default encoding. For more information, please contact the merchant".

Can someone check to see what the encoding should be on paypal

Look in your paypal account under

    Account profile - Selling Preferences

scroll down to "PayPal button language encoding" - More Options

    Encoding .

    What does it say?

    Thanks!

(I'm in the UK , I don't know if that makes any difference or not).

Is the Paypal button on your web site?

If yes the coding Paypal gives you does not work. Basically you need coding around the Paypal coding for the button to work.

If this is to do with Delcampe then you should not be having any problem. If you want the full coding to work on a web site contact me and I'll cut and paste the full html coding for you - but I cannot make any promises as to when I can do this as I travel a fair bit.

    Hello

    It's just Delcampe.

So it doesn't matter what the code is on my paypal? It should still work?

I just wanted to check all options. It was working OK, til recently. Maybe another Delcampe glitch? .

I just sent my customer a direct paypal invoice and that was paid OK

I would run the usual checks - anti virus and anti malware just to be safe.

There do not appear to be any other reports of this so it seems peculiar to you. Certainly I have had no problem with Paypal payments for Delcampe items - the last one about an hour or so ago.

The system seems to have rectified itself.

    I just received a payment OK .

I'm used to occasional failure of Delcampe paypal, I usually get about 1 a week, but then they work on the retry.

This was the first time I'd had multiple failures, and the first time a customer had actually told me what was wrong!

I'll run a scan anyway, although I only did one yesterday,
