Bonus system

Can we PLEASE have a way of recognising when someone takes their bonus when making a payment.

I was puzzled when someone only paid me 26p on an invoice of £8.50. I sent a polite Email querying their payment which was ignored so I wrongly assumed the buyer (who had some negative feedback already for non payments) was trying to pull a fast one! A further Email - still polite - meant my customer took umbrage but he did explain he had taken his bonus from a previous order he had paid for.

With loads of invoices being paid each week it is a difficult task to see who is taking a bonus or not and, as far as I can see it is a time consuming and arduous task to do so - unless I am missing something of course!

    I agree with you.
We should be able to see if and how much a customer redeems in bonuses. As it stands at the moment it gets very confusing.

This whole Bonus system appears ill conceived in its implementation. I have just had a glance through my Credits given section and noticed that the person who took his credit (the one that paid 26p) still has the credit against his name - so I am wondering if this credit still apears in his 'Credits' so he can try and claim again. He also appears to have another credit for his 'Credit' claimed purchase.

All this is very confusing and will play havoc with my accounting system if more of my customers actively start taking their credits as there is no easy way of recognising who has taken their credits and when and if anyone is trying to claim the same credit more than once.

If anyone is less confused than myself and can enlighten me if I am missing something obvious I would be most grateful. Unless there is a better way of keeping track of these credits implemented I am going to opt out of this rather rapidly as it would be easier to operate my own system than continue with the rather tortuous Delcampe one.

If you go to your "bonus card parameters" then click on the tab "my given credits" and then on "monthly history of used credits" you will get a list of who has taken their credits. (although the link has been there for nearly a forthnight, it only started working a couple of days ago).

But I still agree that it should be instantly visible when one receives a payment.

I opted into it when it started for a 3 month period; I don't think I will extend it, I find it all too clumsy to work with.

Many thanks for that. I had tried the link about a week or so ago and it was not working then! Never thought about trying it again!

I do agree that the whole sytem is very cumbersome and irksome. It would help if the powers that be at Delcampe would give some indication if they intend to update/improve the system in the near future.

One of Delcampes 'bad' features is its apparent inability to announce what it is doing in advance of any site improvements - they seem to spring up just like the facility you announced was working - surely an email to all sellers on the data base would not be out of the question?

    Probably wishful thinking again!

    Again in full agreement.
They are very slightly better at mentioning things on the French forum, but seem to forget that they are an international site and not every one speaks French.

A good example can be found here: Link (http)

There is a post about that on the Dutch forum. It looks like some of the early credits that were redeemed, have not been cancelled.

I don't know if you can get the gist of it or not, but it's Adelheid's post in this thread: Link (http)

This seems to have been the case with a couple of my buyers. None have claimed a 'double' discount yet and now I am wise to this they will not be able to either.

I wonder how many more little niggles like this will crawl out of the woodwork as we go along!

In fact the credits used by buyers don't appear in the "history of used credits" and still appear as valid credit. This need to be fixed!

The inability to understand and manage the credit used is too much for me.
I've already canceled my DBC participation.

As a buyer, I'm going to ignore the bonus system from now on. From the email I received today from one seller it appears to be too difficult for sellers to keep track of when bonuses have been applied. I am not prepared to risk a perfect feedback record thanks to a misunderstanding caused by this ill-conceived "feature".

The email was polite, but did point out to me that I had underpaid, requesting a further payment to make up the difference - which I have done. This "underpayment amount" resulted because I ticked the "use bonus" box on the invoice.

It is sometimes difficult to do business across language barriers and we really don't need a complication like this bonus system which can potentially generate ill will between seller and buyer.

What I find irritating is the deafening silence from Delcampe.

There appears no acknowledgement from the management that there are any problems with this system and no indication that I have seen that any steps are being taken to resolve some major issues with the system as it stands.

The concept is fine and many of my regular customers wish to participate (spend more money with me to get the discount and my current 'freebie' promotion) but some of them are baffled by it all. Now I have to spend a lot of extra time scrutinising payments and consolidating them against possible 'bonus' claims and also time trying to explain the system to my cusomers when I do not see how it works properly myself.

I thought I could easily pull out of this but I do have extra business from offering the discount so am reluctant to pull the plug IF Delcampe are doing anything to iron out all the bugs and problems with the system.

So if anyone at Delcampe monitors or reads these forums - HOW ABOUT AN UPDATE ON WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO RESOLVE THESE ISSUES??

If you are doing nothing tell us all so we can kick this poorly implemented improvement into touch - if you are doing something then those contemplating or using the sytem can evaluate whether is will be worthwhile starting or continuing with it.

    Dear members,

Could you please provide us with more details on the Bonus Card system?

There have been isolated difficulties which have been corrected during the hours that followed (at the latest).

Currently, there is no difficulty which has been raised for which details have been provided.

So thanks in advance for providing us all the details you have on this.

For your information, when the GM goes to the Forums it is only as a matter of urgency, this is why he only goes to the French Forum.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Thanks Miranda,

I have already sent my concerns to Oliver at Delcampe in reply to an Email received from him.

Can I urge anyone else who has any problems with the Bonus system to contact Miranda/Oliver with an outline of their concerns.

Personally I think the system is currently too unwieldy and cumbersome. For me it would be easier to apply any discount from the first invoice to anyone who buys off me rather than 'saving' the discount for subsequent purchases. This way the discount offered is automatic. Possibly a qualifying amount to be spent needs to be applied - for example to all purchases over £10 (excluding postage and packing).

For information here is another thread about this:

    Link (http)

    And this one:

    Link (http)

All have points raised that need a response - if a problem has been fixed it needs to be announced - not just fixed and then has to be found out by accident!

This issue needs sorting, otherwise I will not be extending my participation in the scheme.

I had one last month that did not appear in my list of "used credits", but when I went to check how much credit the customer had, it was only for the amount of that latest purchase.

You can see how much credit your customer has available in the full list; newest credits given appear at the end.

Hi all. I've come into this discussion a bit late but.....

I tried the system as a seller when it first started but found no increase in sales (was that not the whole point of the scheme?). Same problems with implementation as everyone else and all in all it takes up too much time with no positive result.

1 month after opting out, sales are higher!!!
